havanatopia
Apparently he's pleading for diminished responsibility in the boardroom this morning. I recall the Oldham fans saying this was about the worst managerial appointment Rovers could have made; seems, thus far, they are right and that he could be sacked today. I bet they wish they had stayed with Trollope now. Frankly, I think sacking Penny is probably the right decision; they surely cannot be worse than they are now if you, me or Doris was in charge. is this good, bad or could you not give a rats backside? CotswoldRed
Whatever secures relegation will be the right decision for me.
mark43
Bad news, he was doing a cracking job!!! Overall I dont really care though, happy enough to see them doing badly, but they are largely an irrelevance.
howey_ducky
bad decision if they do sack him. as said above, he's doing tremendously well in my view. I'm not sure that they could afford to sack him tho.
InCider
Agree with howey_ducky that they can't really afford his pay off. Bad news if true though, as a caretaker/new manager might have a honeymoon period where they pick up a few points.
bringbacktherobin
They shouldnt sack him, you have to give managers more time, modern day football is a complete joke. He is doing well, taking them down, bloke is a legend.

Robbored
What are Rovers the board doing? Penney had only been in post since January. We all thought he was doing a great job. The bottom line is that they have too many crap players and regardless of who the manager is they are a cert for the drop.

And now they've sacked Penney they'll have even less cash to get back up with. I'm sure it won't be cheap to offload him.

Ron
Wow, didn't see this coming with their financial situation. Fair play to them for it, big call, but determination and 'being a club legend' didn't exactly help Shearer save Newcastle. Think it's all too little too late.
