Guest Red_Rat Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 What are your names about and how did you get them? And how many people how them on their shirts? I know Neo and Wesco do but that's about it.
Guest city3rovers2 Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 It was a cold friday night, a few days before Christmas. It was red and white night at the gate. The gas went 1 up within 30 seconds. It stayed that way for the whole of the first half. Then City went on a rampage and scored 3 goals, making the gas look like fools, and that Christmas was one of the best. Hence my name...
Guest nickD Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 I'm drunk, i'm a student. Took a long time to think up. On the back of my new shirt, i've got my surname 'Dyer' and 21, as it was a 21st bday present.
Guest city3rovers2 Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 but I dont have anything on the back of my shirt. I did have Bell and 3 on the back of one a few years ago, but I can't be bothered now. If he stays, I might get Doherty 4 on next years.

The Casual Connoisseur Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 I used to work in Russia for the farmers union as a wolf killer. My job was to track and kill Wolves. Wolves were a massive problem in the late nineties for Siberian farmers, they would randomly kill livestock and chicken used to feed famalies in the harsh winters. My job was to terminate the vermin hence my name.

The Man In Black Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 On the old forum get-up I was rew_1984. Pretty dull, it was simply my initials and date of birth. When the forum transferred to this system and we had to reregister, I fancied something a bit more memorable. So, since I was a jobbing ref, I decided on 'The Man In Black' (rather then names that questioned my parentage ) I've since quit (too much aggro, not enough enjoyment in many matches) but I still keep tabs on developments in the world of the LOAF (laws of association football), which allows me to come on here and annoy everyone with what the law says on certain things
Maltshoveller Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 My local pub in sunny bridgwater The Maltshovell
Taz Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Erm I like Taz. Not really sure why I never used Lee, just a bit ordinary I suppose. Had to think of a name to register with on the old forum and the Taz on my desk caught my eye, so there we go. Did use to be Tazman (don't ask ), but decided to shorten it when we changed forums.
2iamdavies Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Umm... bcfc - cus of city. lad - cus I'm a lad. 19 - because of my age.
Guest Neo Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Cos it's a firking cool name and when I had hair and wore a long jacket from roughly 500 yards away I was the spit of Keanu Reeves. Truthfully, it was initials for "Never Ending Optimism" which is a bit of a hypocritical statement for me. I actually have "NEO 18" on my back. At the time of getting it done, Roberts was at his most hated, so it was the most natural number for me to have.
Squeak Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Tuffley comes from my street name....Red is a bit obvious

Thornbury Red Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Thorn as its short for blackthorn - nectar of kings. Bury as that was my first away ground. Red is Der backwards - which is my favourite saying cos I'm a bit thick.
Portland Bill Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Used to be SPIKE but when we had to re-register a few months back someone somehow got MY NAME off of me :@ . So my new name is the place of my birth, Portland. The bill is cos there is a lighthouse on the island called Portland Bill .
chowie Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Names Nick, people started calling me Nicolai Ceausescu (Nico-lie Chow-ches-cu), then got shortened to Chow, so people know me as Chow or Chowie. Bet you thought it was Chinese related, no weirder a nutty Romanian dictator.

Guest SomethingSomethingRubenstein Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 It was a cold friday night, a few days before Christmas. It was red and white night at the gate. The gas went 1 up within 30 seconds. It stayed that way for the whole of the first half. Then City went on a rampage and scored 3 goals, making the gas look like fools, and that Christmas was one of the best. Hence my name... What a wonderful night that was - C3R2, the mere mention of your name brings a glow to my heart! My moniker is that of a minor character in A Clockwork Orange, and also the name of a band I was in that never quite got off the ground!
Guest Navane Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 I was getting p****D off with not being able to get a nmae so just looked round my room and Wesco was the make of my clock so used that. Did have it on the back of my away shirt last season and may do again next year. Well, you and I have something in common then! -- Warning: Long story ahead -- I've had the name "Navane" for a looooong time - 1993 or so, in fact. Back in the pre-internet days there were BBSs (Bulletin Board Systems). When registering for a BBS, one must pick a handle/alias. I had no nicknames at the time and no favourite movies or characters that would make a good name. The registration process is timed; if you didn't type in something, you'd get disconnected. Like Wesco, I got frustrated when I couldn't come up with anything. So, I looked around the room and saw a thermometer/barometer on the wall next to my dad's desk - it said "Navane" on it. Uhm...yeah...ok....whatever I just typed it in figuring I would change it later when I thought of something proper. I didn't think of anything better and it stuck. Some weeks or months later, I thought I ought to figure out what "Navane" means. I looked back at the thermometer and saw that it said "Thiothixene" on the bottom. Uh oh...I had a funny feeling about that. My mum was a registered nurse, so I borrowed her physician's desk reference and looked it up. It turns out that "Navane" is an antipsychotic drug administered to people with schizophrenia in order to curb their hallucinations. Apparently my mum got the thermometer at the hospital as one of the freebies that pharmaceutical companies often send out in an attempt to get the name of their drug in front of doctors. Heh....only once did someone ask me if I have that name because I take the drug. Ah..no. Though, "NAVANE" is my car registration number and I'll also answer to that name if someone calls out to me. .....Kelly
