You are a funny chap, I actually quite like you.

Now please lets agree to disagree and dont get spoiling another thread.

Just one point "If City suddenly dropped the prices they would have to sell all the players and sign crap ones" my god, worse than we have now :rofl2br:

I don't see it as spoiling, I think this subject needs discussing and has provided a lot of stimulating conversation over the last few days (On Spudki's thread)

Ha, I must say that point did cross my mind, But you must consider our wage bill is amongst the highest in the division, So if we had less to spend, that should really mean the quality of footballer and therefore football at the club would diminish vastly.

Football is a bit ******, but I don't agree the club are the ones at fault for that as much as other factors.

No Arguments Spud, I do understand where people are coming from, I just don't happen to think it is as bad as they like to make out. Though over-exaggeration is a completely separate issue.

I think what yourself (I assume you agree with the people you've been quoting this week?) and others need to accept is, Mistakes were made. They have already been made and it's quite pointless to moan about them now. We can all have our opinions on what was the reason behind those mistakes, but fundamentally the two people who most would blame have taken their responsibilities and left the club in one way or another. Johnson left as manager and Lansdown has taken a back seat (Not as you keep asserting, Pulled the plug)

Those two actions were the only things that could really have been done after the mistakes that were made under their respective tenures. Now the club is moving at a pace to try rectify those mistakes. We are trying to be prudent (Something Arsene Wenger is worshipped for by a select few on this forum) and we are trying to get the rising debts (Which, having seen the terrible scenes at both Pompey and Plymouth do bear great resemblances to the '82 near disaster, Which is entirely relevant as anything is better than no club at all) down.

What we do have, is the long term promise of a new stadium and a vision to be at least some of the way towards being solvent when that Stadium is built. Maybe in todays society asking for patience and having a long term vision is not acceptable? We have the terrible notion of "Jam today" rather than a long term and structured plan at this club and that saddens me as on paper, building slowly is the only honest and proper way to do things.

I have no suggestions on how to improve it as I still see the off field activities at this club being of the ultimate importance for now, people who cannot see that those activities and of course problems need to be addressed must be blind!!

I agree in principle with what you are saying...

Maybe it's a generation thing? For many fans of my age and above, we've experienced City **** up, again and again and again. These last few seasons have been the straw that's broke the Camels back. Never before have we had an owner with so much money to invest, yet, we've been so near, but yet so far. Regardless of Promotion or results, the product on offer now and for last season is dire. Fans have had enough...we've run the mill so to speak. Maybe it's time for the new Generation to take over?

As for football in general and Clubs going bust... I'm of the Ray Winston brigade. I'd love it if all Clubs went bust, and we could start afresh, under different rules and regulations. Football is going nowhere... It can't continue to go the way it's going.

Since last years World Cup and the announcement of the next, people have really seen it for what it is. A farce.

I, In turn, agree with you Spudski. However, my loyalty to this club means I do not want it to go bust as I know the situation you talk of will never come to pass.

The board have their work cut out, as do a lot of football clubs. The attitude to the game is slowly souring and that in itself is terrible news. I prefer the cricket, and I'm one of the rose-tinters FFS!
