potbelly Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 As a ST holder i won`t be going if Millen is still in charge.
Donald Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 As a ST holder I will also be attending regardless of who is in charge. more importantly please offer you unwanted ticket to a friend who would love to attend a game but possibly can't afford it. In bad times clubs need fans through thick and thin. More fans supporting the players the better for everyone
A Horse With No Name Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 As a ST holder i won`t be going if Millen is still in charge. All I can say is that it matters not a jot. The club have your money up front and you will be counted in the attendance regardless. The more negative people that stay away on Saturday, the better IMO.
i hate you butler Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 as a veteran of successive relegations 80,81 & 82 then almost losing the love of my life (feb 82 for all the "gloryhunters" when we almost were no more) this city fan developed a thick skin believe me god knows what would going on this board if internet was around at that time those that dont wanna go can rev up and **** off in my book up the city!!!
Guest AlwayBelieves Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 As i ST Holder im going.. and i agree the negative people can keep away in my opinion!
i hate you butler Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 im boycotting good thats one less moaner
Red Robin Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 STs holders *10 in our group will be there, but it is like watching a repeat, week in,week out. The same FOOTY,the same results, the same end boring.
City fan 1982 Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 if your prepared to put up with dire football, no goals at home , even people with season tickets not bothering to go surely the happyclappers must realise all is not well ??
Pickle Rick Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 if your prepared to put up with dire football, no goals at home , even people with season tickets not bothering to go surely the happyclappers must realise all is not well ?? I see it more like turning up because Bristol City are my team regardless of good/bad performances. I never missed a game from when Tinnion was in charge and I won't stop for any reason now. So if you'd rather not turn up because we're not doing well then don't. Doesn't say much in terms of being a Bristol City supporter.
i hate you butler Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 if your prepared to put up with dire football, no goals at home , even people with season tickets not bothering to go surely the happyclappers must realise all is not well ?? this aint nothing compared to the early 80s and i still went every game full of hope things would change- makes the good times even better
Red Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 this aint nothing compared to the early 80s and i still went every game full of hope things would change- makes the good times even better I went to nearly all the games in the early 80's full of hope things would change, been through SOME good times since. But 70% of the time seen some right old crap, and still seeing it. Full of promise every new season hoping to see my team playing good football and being talked about in a good way. No way is Millen good for my club!
Cardy Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I will be there but I might not make it to half time if he plays blinking one up front again!
pride of the west Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Il be there as a season ticket holder. Gotta support during the good and the bad. Otherwise might as well buy a united shirt and subscribe to MUTV. Putting up with the bad times makes the good times so much sweeter.
Alex_BCFC Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 As a ST holder i won`t be going if Millen is still in charge. You really know how to support the team through thick and thin...
BCFC Jordan Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Next home game needs to be like Reading last year. Good support and get behind the team together as fans. Forget about Millen etc, we need a win.
reddoc Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 STs holders *10 in our group will be there, but it is like watching a repeat, week in,week out. The same FOOTY,the same results, the same end boring. Can't wait Neil, for some reason I'm thinking Bristol City nil, you can fill in the rest.
spudski Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I hope the fans give the players a friggin hard time and make it known it's not good enough. Support yes, but they've had a bloody easy ride from our fans this season and last. If Millen can get angry and give them a hard time this week in training, then so can the fans on Saturday. As Milley said, the winning goal today was like watching Youth football. Fans can show passion for the Club, by letting the players know they need to buck up...not just apathetically applaud, just because it's the 'right thing to do'. Blind support. These players need to know it's not good enough, and that this Club is bigger than them. Give 'em hell...not soft applause. They need a friggin wake up call imho.

milo1111 Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I'll be there but its getting harder to leave the pub at 2.30 on a sat avo these days. Can understand those who don't go though. it so frustrating I wonder if its worth it. The players need to buck up as well the overpaid wasters. But its a quality manager that can get them going in the modern game. Its an art in itself. Millen doesn't posses that quality Im afraid.
Red Robin Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Can't wait Neil, for some reason I'm thinking Bristol City nil, you can fill in the rest. Loose this pete,he's got a go.
Red Knowle Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Otib doesn't do positives but city couldf have won easily. Could have been two down first ten but after that city were the better team and had leeds on the backfoot. Leeds fans started getting at them and their players looked nervous and gave the ball away even doing the simple things. 1-1 there only looked one winner till the sending off and penalty. The miss brought the ground to life a bit and gave their players a lift. Lesson to fans on here again that. As will happen sometimes v ten it got harder than v eleven. but after the equalisser city could have got something out of it. leeds got very lucky today. Get behind the team its what supporters are meant to do not sulk and stay home. This is a party v the early eighties.
NifflerNomad Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 As a ST holder I would go but I said I would take the family to Bristol zoo. Depends what time I leave. Would really like to see basso again and show him my thanks
Puckle_red Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I am going because I've already paid for my ST and thats the only reason - I can take losing (Donny away after losing 7 in a row under Johnson), ST for 8 or 9 years, and sticking with it last season. But Millen has got an extremely talented squad worthy of a top 10 finish, how on earth are we in a relegation battle again!? He HAS to go, its so blatent, I totally understand why people do not and will not POTD because neither would I. Our attendances at home are bad enough but away - its embarrassing, simply awful. We used to have fantastic away support in % terms but now we struggle to reach 500! Once Millen goes you just watch this club pull together again. Sorry but I've had enough.
Guest cockneyrobin Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I'll be there on Saturday regardless of whose in charge/what the formation is/which ST holders are boycotting. I remember the days of the early 80's and watching City getting thumped by Northampton and fielding a team of YTS trainees due to financial problems off the pitch. Its like one of the posters said earlier in this thread, you go through the tough times to appreciate the good times when they happen. Its the rats who always jump first off the supposed sinking ship.
WhistleHappy Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 As a ST holder i won`t be going if Millen is still in charge. .....well you can go to hull then
Snufflelufagus Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I see it more like turning up because Bristol City are my team regardless of good/bad performances. Garland-sweden Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I will be there but I might not make it to half time if he plays blinking one up front again! I really hope that we will win on saturday. It feels like we must win and avoid the relegation zone. Its going to be a nervy season.
Guest always hoping Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Suspect City will rally round and get a couple of results in the next 2 games. This should help move us up the table nad ease the growing pressure. Be nice to have 6-10 teams sitting below us in the table.
mcbcfc Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 It'll be interesting to see the attendance I suspect there will be lots of empty seats, can't see hull bringing too many 5/6 hundred looking at a crowd of 11-12k
Fiale Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 But, but what about the weak cuppa tea and 1cm thick burger ? What would I do for lunch if I didn't go to the gate ?
bucksred Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 this aint nothing compared to the early 80s and i still went every game full of hope things would change- makes the good times even better There was an excuse for performances back then. there isnt now. actually there is the useless bloody manager. God I'm actually pining for the Danny Wilson era now, and by god that was bad enough.
potbelly Posted September 18, 2011 Author Posted September 18, 2011 Nothing to do with supporting the club, i would agrue that i am as big a supporter as anyone else. I have already supported the club financially by renewing my season ticket, i also do a small bit by paying for some advertising on this very site. The football is crap, there is no buzz, the club has gone stale and no amount of shouting or singing or flag waving or positive arse kissing is going to change the fact that we are being ripped off financially and emotionally.
spudski Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Bristol city 'supporter' a term lost on many. Why 'support' a club that pays a reported £10-12,000 a week to a player that has played 5 times for us and drives around in a baby Bently? Why should the common working man be asked to pay a substantial part of his wages every week, to watch overpaid, average footballers, giving very little Entertainment? Asked to pay to be photographed with these underachievers, whilst paying to wear the latest money spinner... A lemon Peel kit Asked to support a Club where the manager says one thing and the board says another? Asked to support a team where the owner has flown to a Tax haven, seemingly given up until his new stadium comes into fruition, whilst we are all asked to support during this hiatus. Well it seems if if it's good enough for the owner to walk away until that happens. then it's good enough for many supporters. Watching this Club play at the moment, is like watching a road accident in slow motion. But i'm sure there will be a few in years to come who will be on this forum saying 'I was there supporting City in 2011 when City were at their lowest...therefore i'm s true supporter'. People need to wise up and smell the coffee. Working all week to be entertained by this shower of shit. C'mon get real.
