Roadrunner Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Gentleman of the board, your silence is deafening
Superjack Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Indeed. None of know our board's list of priorities, but it's becoming apparent to me that keeping us out of League 1 is seemingly not at the top.
Guest Dave Youell Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Perhaps it's deafening because they are making a difficult decision about the management of our club and would want to get that sorted before telling us? I hope so, got £40 ridding on it!
Monkeh Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 not really, they haven't been interviewed or called a press conference so we wouldn't hear anything yet, I don't think the players are even due to train today, I would wait until tomorrow to say the silence is deafening

Kingswood Robin Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 The silence certainly is deafening. If it was going to happen I'd have expected the club to announce around 9am that a press conference was due at around 11am. Don't think anything will happen today, and if nothing happens today he'll still be there Saturday "fighting on". I wouldn't be surprised (and will be dissappointed) if something isn't sorted during the international break though.

Guest MC Risk Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 They won't get rid of him anyway until they have somebody else lined up. That would be Mr Wigley my friend, if they want to do it they will just put Wigley in interim charge i feel, until a suitable candidate can be found.......I think we are about to hit maybe the most critical few weeks in our recent history
Robbored Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 So what do you all want to hear from the board? Please leave out the predictable ''sack Millen'' comments. We've heard them plenty of times already.

How about somthing along the lines of trying to get the crowd back at AG or makeing funds avaialable to strengthern or just show some f ing leadership instead of going missing
Cornacix the Druid Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Or even an aknowledgement of the situation and/or how a percentage of the fans feel. If were not jumping ship, at least steady it.
Guest jamesbryantrec Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Adam just posted on twitter that an interview with sexstone is on player now and transcript on website

Guest Ryan 7 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Anything other than Millen going, will be a major disappointment. vote of confidence?
Tim S Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Full interview with Colin Sexstone online on Player shortly and Geoff Twentyman is interviewing him for Points West at 6.30pm on BBC1.
The hand of RO'D Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Will be the usual we need to get behind the team dross. Same old same old with city at the moment.
Monkeh Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Clarification of the situation would be nice. an attempt to galvanise the support behind the idea that they have for the club. If they have faith in Millen then they should be convincing us to have faith too. The new board has been nothing short of amateurish since Lansdown left as it's head. Who is leading us? Sextoy isn't that's for sure. that would be seen as a vote of confidence which would mean p45 time (how most on here would see it) We need leadership from the top
Us_and_Them Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 So what do you all want to hear from the board? Please leave out the predictable ''sack Millen'' comments. We've heard them plenty of times already. I simply want to hear a rallying cry from the board, the silence is confusing. Colin seems to want to give millen more time otherwise he would of been out of the door by now, so as that hasn't happened why are they not publicly backing him and trying to get the fans to back him/team/club?
Guest jamesbryantrec Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 vote of confidence? or no confidence....

There is something coming up soon. I'd imagine the media team had the morning off as they worked late yesterday? Unless they are going to sack KM, then really there isn't much more they can say is there?

Guest Ashton Gater Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 How about somthing along the lines of trying to get the crowd back at AG or makeing funds avaialable to strengthern or just show some f ing leadership instead of going missing I actually agree with the 'what do you want to hear from the board' comment. Those wanting Millen out will be disappointed by anthing but, the club isn't in a position to make throw more money at the squad, and quite frankly - showing support for Millen would upset most of the people who moan about him on here anyway. Millen leaves, or they're backing him, either way I'd rather they take their time to think about it and not make a rushed decision.

Unless they are going to sack KM, then really there isn't much more they can say is there? It may sound stupid to some but i just want them to state the bloody obvious, colin should be saying that we're in a tough position at the moment and we need the fans/team/club to all be pulling in the same direction etc. And a We're up for the fight sort of talk, and we (as a club) will be doing everything in our power to keep championship status...again its the obvious but i would like colin to admit it and lead our club. It is time for the board to either back or sack millen.

Guest Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 what does it say? Just listening to it now..
BCFC Jordan Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 He's not going anywhere in the near future by the sounds of it.
Evy11_BCFC Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Four minutes of nothing said really, Keith is in charge for Saturday. Sounds like they had a board meeting with Millen today.
Super Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Four minutes of nothing said really, Keith is in charge for Saturday. Sounds like they had a board meeting with Millen today. Is it the dreaded vote of confidence?
Riaz Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 He's not going anywhere in the near future by the sounds of it. for **** sake! League One here we come!
Monkeh Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Is it the dreaded vote of confidence? looks like it
Riaz Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Its sexstone waffling on. he said millen's the right character or some bollox along those lines.
BCFC Jordan Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Also mentions how the attendance drop will effect our budget. Hahaha what budget?
Guest Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 It sounds like him & SL have discussed things today, maybe a plan of if/when/who but really can't take much out of the interview. As someone said above, what do you want them to say? If he was going to be sacked it would have happened last night.
Guest CARLE08 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 noticed sextones dones a interview on the website can anyone tell me what he said please
InCider Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Is it even worth having a pointless interview like that one?
cheese Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 noticed sextones dones a interview on the website can anyone tell me what he said please Difficult times blah blah, fans are great blah blah, players and manager working hard blah blah, hurting blah blah, where did all this sand come from. I expect.
Guest oldfield Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 noticed sextones dones a interview on the website can anyone tell me what he said please Simple answer to question is nothing.
Riaz Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 says the board are fully aware of the problems. attendances are down everywhere for sport. He's had a meeting with SL today and discussed a number of things He then says Millen is the right character for saturday!!!
Robbored Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Its sexstone waffling on. he said millen's the right character or some bollox along those lines. What do expect him to say? He's hardly going to slag of the players and manager in public. He actually spoke very well but according to you it was 'bollox'. In other words you didn't like what he had to say about Millen being a tough and resourceful character.

stokes7 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Just watched sexstones interview on iplayer he said hes had a meeting with lansdown today but going by his comments about millen i dont think he is going anywhere he will be in charge on saturday i reckon

SC_Red Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Saturday is an away game so there will be no lost revenue from stay away fans. Then theres a 2 week break. If they are going to remove him it makes sense to wait until after Blackpool. He was never going to get sacked this week.
Riaz Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 What do expect him to say? He's hardly going to slag of the players and manager in public. He actually spoke very well but according to you it was 'bollox'. In other words you didn't like what he had to say about Millen being a tough and resourceful character. Precisely - just shows how deluded they are! There's still time to save our season - this delay is risking our championship status
Monkeh Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 says the board are fully aware of the problems. We can't act yet as it would be silly to get rid of someone in the middle of saturdays prep but he will be gone if we don't get a win attendances are down everywhere for sport. we are really worried about the lose of 4000 potd supporters and the fruther 2000 season ticket holders who don't show up but we have the latters money so screw them He's had a meeting with SL today and discussed a number of things we've discussed who is going to replace Millen He then says Millen is the right character for saturday!!!

Guest Pemburthy Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Yes CS crowds are down everywhere but I'm one making no effort to attend. The women's Euro match is more appealing to me at the moment!
kevster3 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Surprise, surprise,Lansdown has decided his man must stay, won't admit he got it wrong.League 1 here we come.
Webzcas Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I don't read it like that. If anything comes across as one step away from the dreaded vote of confidence imo. The board have broken their silence at least.
Monkeh Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Surprise, surprise,Lansdown has decided his man must stay, won't admit he got it wrong.League 1 here we come. not read it like that, some of the things he's said are right but it looks like its a vote or as close as you can get to a vote of confidence,
Guest Ryan 7 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 To me it sounds like they've had a board meeting today and discussed a whole range of issues for why we are doing badly (manager main topic), and have gave him till Saturday where we are away hence no lost home revenue and a 2 week international break to sort everything out.
Guest Dave Youell Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Don't they understand I have money riding on this? Enough for a ticket, sack him and I can afford to attend, clearly a win/win without bais
Robbored Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Surprise, surprise,Lansdown has decided his man must stay, won't admit he got it wrong.League 1 here we come. You must have a crystal ball that not only predicts the future but can also see and hear private conversations between the clubs owner and Chairman... I'll bet its worth a fortune. Where did you get it?
slartibartfast Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Also mentions how the attendance drop will effect our budget. Hahaha what budget? So he's saying, we goota turn up or it will be L1? Yeah thanks then.....Bring back Russe's "Reform Group", they had as much of a clue as this shower!

NOTR Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 once I've got the lottery numbers for the next year I'll let you borrow it I'll give you a tenner if I can borrow it next tuesday.
Northern Red Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 A few people seem to have missed the point somewhat. That interview from Sexstone was essentially the vote of confidence. And we all know what usually follows a vote of confidence, look at Doncaster, where O'Driscoll went the day after the chairman gave him his public backing. As has been stated, we have 2 weeks after Blackpool. Assuming the worst happens on Saturday, that is when things are more likely to start moving.
beaverface Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Can you keep him until the return fixture on Jan 31st Now now, don't be greedy, you've already seen us bottle it and roll over twice. i.e. Last night and boxing day last year. ...but it's alright for us City fans, as things are clearly moving in the right direction since boxing day and we're not prone to any of the same errors whatsoever ;-)
brady bunch Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I say fair play to CS, its a tough call either way and he is hurting like the rest of us. Its all been said already, but there is not much to gain from parting with the management this week, but if we are rock bottom come Sunday and the pack is starting to go away from us (as they are doing already looking at the table) then a change in the coming weeks will be forced on the club.
Sargent Pepper Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Some of you lot are unbelievable, "the silence from the board is deafening!" then when they do speak and not say what you want to hear they get blasted."the board clearly rushed into appointing Millen" now they are taking their time and making sure they are doing the right thing and surprise surprise otib is not happy.Let's face facts, if/when he does go whoever we appoint will not be everyone first choice and there fore never given a chance by some who will bare a grudge for the length of his stay,, which let's face it will be in question the moment we hit a bad run. Repeat infinity!
Superjack Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Millen. Clueless Muppet. Sexstone. Clueless Muppet. The entire board. Clueless Muppets. Cue Robbored (and possibly Tansley). I've said my piece.
