Super Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 How many have been calling for him to start? At best he was dreadful today. We don't have one bloody midfielder that can pass a ball.
Guest Tony Montana Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Oh dear, you poor excuse of a football fan !
hinsleburg Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 How many have been calling for him to start? At best he was dreadful today. We don't have one bloody midfielder that can pass a ball. WHAT?! He broke up attacks all the time he was on and i didn't see him give the ball away once?
Esmond Million's Bung Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 How many have been calling for him to start? At best he was dreadful today. We don't have one bloody midfielder that can pass a ball. Let it go Keef let it go, show some dignity.

Gilli74 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Thought him and Stewart did well today specially as they lacked match practice ... Thought Cisse did well ... Accomplished on the ball and rarely gave the ball away if at all ?
NOTR Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Let it go Keef let it go, show some dignity. :laughcont:
Guest WickwarRed Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Were you at the game today?? He sat in front of the back four and did a really good job. I was surprised he was taken off, I would have taken of either Kilkenny or Elliot and left him doing that job. I do not think they would have scored the 2nd goal if he had been on as Cisse had been denying them that sort of chance all game. For me he should be the first midfield player on the team sheet and then you just decide if it kilkenny, elliot or skuse with him
BrizzleRed Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 How many have been calling for him to start? At best he was dreadful today. We don't have one bloody midfielder that can pass a ball. Are you for real mate, because from what I've seen of your recent posts, you seem to be on a different planet to the rest of us?
TRL Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Cisse does the defensive midfield role perfectly, but one thing is certain, his passing is erratic at best, sometimes brilliant other times woeful. That is the only worry I have with him, you just do not know what is coming when he passes. I do think we look defensively stronger when in the side, giving the likes of Elliot the chance to roam forward. Just look how many chances Elliott had today. He causes defences to panic when he gets forward, and only with Cisse playing is he given the free license to do it.
Alex#40 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Have a word with yourself and don't let the door hit you on the way out. Unbelievable!
Guest Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 The second goal probably came as a result of Cisse not being on the pitch, he probably would have been behind Killkenny and won back possession. It was noticeable when he went off how we suddenly lost the midfield battle.
Chivs Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 How many have been calling for him to start? At best he was dreadful today. We don't have one bloody midfielder that can pass a ball. Funny old game. I thought he was our man of the match by a country mile.
The Humble Realist Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Post from 'super', super moron more like, anyone who described his performance as dreadful clearly doesn't know anything about football
fka dagest Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Post from 'super', super moron more like, anyone who described his performance as dreadful clearly doesn't know anything about football Indeed. I honestly think Cisse had a 100% passing completion rate today.
Betelgeuse Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Cisse was better than Kilkenny today for me. He just didn't look fit which us understandable. The whole team just need to get some belief installed back in them!
Alex_BCFC Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Thought Cisse did OK considering he hasn't played much this season. Certainly not dreadful but then again I wouldn't be putting him forward for MOM either.
Guest Cobby the red Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 If he had stayed on they would not of scored the second goal as he closed everyone down.He was excellent
Roger Red Hat Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 we look a better team with Cisse in that holding role, and I agree they probably wouldn't have scored their second goal if he'd still been on the pitch.
WRERE Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Thought he played very well today, intercepted balls and then once he had the ball he always played the simple pass. Never knew why Millen didn't play him, let's just hope the new gaffa does play him
Guest cockneyrobin Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I'm taking what the OP says about Cisse with a pinch of salt...next he'll be saying that we should drop Pitman and bring back Peter Beadle
Guest jrw1978 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Cisse was one of our better players, as always. Should have been playing all season.
Guest gibbens1986 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 What on earth is the orginal poster on about...if u thought cisse wass crap, don't watch football again u don't understand it.cisse best player, just lacking match fitness.
WRERE Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Anyone else think he should be starting? But if you do think he should, who do you think will be dropped for him to come in?
TRL Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Anyone else think he should be starting? But if you do think he should, who do you think will be dropped for him to come in? Yes I do, and I think Kilkenny should be dropped. Both play in front of the back 4, the only difference Cisse protects it better, Kilkenny passes better. at the moment the back 4 needs protection. Kilkenny is not an attacking midfielder by any stretch of the imagination, although he keeps possession fairly well. For me Cisse and Elliot, Elliot is given license to get forward and cause panic in the opposition penalty area, we need to use the wings effectively for this though as neither Cisse or Elliott are the best passers in the world. This of course is if you are playing 442 There are so many options and combinations if you choose a different formation.
Red-Robbo Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 If he had stayed on they would not of scored the second goal as he closed everyone down.He was excellent This. Welcome back Cisse.
Carey 6 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 He was solid, Tuesday I hope its Gerken Skuse Stewart Nyatanga No idea Cisse Adomah Kilkenny/Marv Jcr Pitman Stead/Maynard/Taylor
Bar BS3 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Anyone else think he should be starting? But if you do think he should, who do you think will be dropped for him to come in? I missed the first 5 mins, but he DID start, didn't he?!
WRERE Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I missed the first 5 mins, but he DID start, didn't he?! Not sure if that's meant to be funny or something because it's not, and it seems someone else knew what I meant and you didn't.
Super Posted October 15, 2011 Author Posted October 15, 2011 Maybe i was a touch harsh with my OP. To me Cisse, Elliot and Skuse are exactly the same midfielder, None are that great and a new manager won't take long to figure it out.
The Humble Realist Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Fair play for goin bk on ur original post super. I can understand that view more , I think its clear skuse is probs the inferior of the three, certainly defensivly. Thought Elliot worked his socks off 2day
TRL Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Maybe i was a touch harsh with my OP. To me Cisse, Elliot and Skuse are exactly the same midfielder, None are that great and a new manager won't take long to figure it out. I think the problem is, they are all quite different, but none of them do what city fans want, get their foot on the ball and ping it about. Cisse the water carrier Elliot the box to box midfielder, not a defensive midfielder Skuse Energetic defensive midfielder. Each brings something to the game, We just haven't found a combination or style that brings the best out of those picked. Unfortunately every time we get a decent ball playing midfielder, it would appear that they are poor trainers and get dumped in the reserves!
REDOXO Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 It was difficul to judget from my office, but listening to the broadcast he was rarely mentioned....in fact I had to check the teamsheet to see if he was playing!! However if you guys say he was ok thats good enough for me!
glynriley Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 It was difficul to judget from my office, but listening to the broadcast he was rarely mentioned....in fact I had to check the teamsheet to see if he was playing!! However if you guys say he was ok thats good enough for me! Apart from Pitman he was the best player on the pitch , IMO and many others on here. Can I suggest you dont form opinions from listening to the radio. I understand you are too far away to attend but the radio commentators will rarely mention the things Cisse does , i.e. breaking up play and just standing in the right places (something that wont get through on the radio).
BrizzleRed Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Don't know what the problem was between him and Millen, but we looked far better with him on the pitch, rather than off it.
Guest Tenyards Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I thought Cisse was by far our best midfielder breaking up play and actually putting in tackles and putting pressure on the opposition further up the field. No doubt he is not match sharp at the moment, which I assume is why he was substituted. He would have closed down for the second goal. Elliott was more of an attacking option having four or five headers...scored with one but had other chances that he could have got on target. We need Cisse in the side.
mcbcfc Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Don't know what the problem was between him and Millen, but we looked far better with him on the pitch, rather than off it. There was a falling out after the bath city friendly
Olé Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 His touch and short and long passing was a class above what we've had this season, and not a single pass was misplaced. I would hire Keith Millen again, just to sack him for a second time for not playing Cisse all season. Incredible incompetence.
rednotblue Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 I always thought it was very poor by KM not go play Cisse because of personl vendetta. Glad to see Cisse back and hopefully with in one month back to full fitness
eric04 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 I always thought it was very poor by KM not go play Cisse because of personl vendetta. Glad to see Cisse back and hopefully with in one month back to full fitness I thought the midfield three were all good yesterday. Cisse broke up attacks, Kilkenny's range of passing and tempo were excellent - can't remember many misplaced passes at all, and Marv got himself into at least 4 goalscoring positions - on another day he could have had a hat-trick. Thought it worked rather well. We were unlucky folks.
Pete1975Legend Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Cisse was excellent yesterday. Still dont see what Kilkenny brings to the table though
redfred Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Cisse was excellent today and what a joy to see that at least one of our midfield can pass the ball with complete comfort and control. I would drop Elliott and let him sit on the bench so perhaps he can learn from Cisse how to provide a weighted pass either to a colleague or into space for a colleague to run on to and also how to pre-empt a run from an opposition player and not react two seconds later. Major ricket from Millen to have left him out as he is an excellent footballer.
Guest Macca Matt Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 I'd drop Maynard and play 4-2-3-1, with the 2 being Cisse and Kilkenny in front of the back 4, Elliott central, JCR and Adomah either side and Pitman up top
REDOXO Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Apart from Pitman he was the best player on the pitch , IMO and many others on here. I understand you are too far away to attend but the radio commentators will rarely mention the things Cisse does , i.e. breaking up play and just standing in the right places (something that wont get through on the radio). I didn't... as I said he was hardly mentioned on the radio, but if you guys said he was ok thats good enough for me. Can I suggest you keep your patronising comments to yourself!
Tales From The Front Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 The second goal probably came as a result of Cisse not being on the pitch, he probably would have been behind Killkenny and won back possession. It was noticeable when he went off how we suddenly lost the midfield battle. Not just me then, thats exactly right. The game was lost to the continued tactical inepetitude of the coaching staff, I will give credit though for bringing back stewart and particulalry Cisse. Had we started with three at the back from the start with JCR instead of an out of position Jordan Spence I'm as sure as I can be we would have won, combined with the hope that Elliott learns to head down rather than up all the time. As for Cisse not being able to pass...that is a Joke, in IMO he only gave the ball away one all afternoon, keeps it simple and ensure we retain possestion something we have been crying out for. One other point...I would like to know from those that are obsessed with stats City's win ratio with Cisse playing in midfield last season, I bet it is 75- 80%. Which for a bloke like Millen, like his mentor who was obsessed with Prozone, is extrodinary Well done Cisse!
Guest Ashton Kate Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 How many have been calling for him to start? At best he was dreadful today. We don't have one bloody midfielder that can pass a ball. What game were you watching ????? He was solid today!!!!!
Guest fabio Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Cisse was great yesterday. A while back at the ballon fiesta my mate spoke to him and he told my mate km has his favorates and that was why he was dropped. Now he has gone I really hope he is given a proper chance. Same for Stewart solid at the back yesterday and also in the box for corners looked dangerous
bearded_red Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 As pretty much everyone has said, Cisse's performance yesterday was very impressive. Positionally he is brilliant, a very good tackler and retains posession well. We were able to control posession much better than we have previously this season in the first half yesterday and that was largely down to him. Also as was shown last season and again yesterday, Cisse's presence in the team allows Marv much more of a licence to get in the box, and as we don't have a goal scoring midfielder in the squad that is important for us. Although it is quite frustrating how many headers Elliott wins compared to how many goals he scores I would say that he does win a lot of ball in the air that he has no right to even get anywhere near. Although the headed chance he missed in the first half did look pretty clear cut.
