#BristolCity v #cpfc - James; Skuse, Stewart, Nyatanga, McGivern; Adomah, Kilkenny, Cisse, Elliott, Campbell-Ryce; Maynard. 4-5-1

Yay a under performing isolated Maynard, just what we need.

I take back my 2-1 prediction 3-1 Palace

Spence also dropped, although he was only in the team as a makeshift left-back anyway.

4-5-1 is the right move. But I still don't feel confident.

That is bonkers in my view...loads of crosses Saturday (Well done Wiggles) but no striker (yes Elliott) on the end of them and we go again with one up front. I know he and Keith used to say three up front but honestly how much time do the three ever spend in the box!!!! Pitman does more than enough to justify a start up front as a two!

Oh well fingers crossed for Leicester De Je Vu :fingerscrossed:

All the best Wigley, hope your out the door too on Thursday

How Maynard can still be in the team on current form is amazing, not even taking into account the bloke wont sign a new deal, and looks like he couldnt give a monkeys

What must Stead and Pitman think ?

Posted

Am i the only one who thought Pitman was poor on saturday? yes he was out on the wing but he looked dis-interested and im not surprised he's been dropped. I think Maynard will also score tonight. Think it's the right decision to bring JCR back into the team

I posted a while back that I believed Wigley was behind the 4--5-1 tactics, having watched the u21s in the summer pack the midfield and lump the ball forward. I do wonder what effect it has on Pitman and Stead when they know Maynard is not committed to the club and is playing poorly but is an automatic choice. I'm sure I would be pretty pissed off. I trust the new boss will not grovel to Maynard as Millen, Wigley and Sexstone have.:disapointed2se:

Thats the joy of a new manager, whoever he may be, fresh impetus, new ideas and a new begining for each player. Surely we will see a few suprises in formation or selection on Sunday. Can't wait.

Have to diagree I'm afraid, I though Pitman looking lively and interested, just being played anywhere but where he should be...fox in the box. Bit like Cisse being played centre half by Millen...just crazy, hopefully things will change quickly now for the better.

Desperate for a win tonight irrespective of the continued suspect selections and tactics....COYR!!!!

I agree with the comments regarding Stead, Pitman, etc, and as I've said I think that the new manager will give them a chance to prove themselves.

However, although he's not exactly been prolific at the moment Maynard is known to oposing Managers and Defences and he will still have that "fear" factor.

So playing him will keep the oposing defenders occupied and enable other city players to play a free-er game.

If we've still got him, lets use him to our advantage.

This club needs a lift. An unexpected 3 points would be just the tonic.

Can't remember what its like to win. Can someone remind me?

To be fair, if I was pitman I'd be ****** off and disinterested!!

Very disappointing that Pitman has been left out.

Of course Maynard may come good tonight and go some way to justifying this selection - let's hope so.

my player is working fine, although a few weeks ago it was saying i hadn't paid, when only a week or 2 before had paid a years subscription, only found out its working again now

come on city :city:

Courner, we always score from courners........... (never).

I've been watching City for well over 2 decades. I reckon we've scored from a corner on about 3 occasions in that time. We're pants in that department. Just as bad firing at the goal firect from free kicks.

I too have to disagree with you on this. I thought Pitman was our best players, especially in the first half, at one point he was left wing, right wing, and centre forward all in the space of 3 minutes.

Twice the player Maynard was on Saturday.

he does care......about his paypacket, dont give a toss about this club, as he will prove at end of season

Seconded.

Unfortunately a couple of posters who usually know what's going on, but don't shout about it, have quietly commented today that they've heard Robins has been given the job.

They hope they're proved wrong, let's hope this time they are.fingerscrossed.gif

Sounds like we've played the better football, yet the only two real chances have come from Palace. Sums up how our season has gone.

Neat inter play by City up to the final ball. Not sure if you can call it particularly good football if the important balls are all wayward.

Best effort of the match by Ambrose.

4-5-1 where the 1 can't hold the ball up. Never smart. Maynard off please or change the system unless we want to have barely any possession and sustain wave after wave of attacks. Odds for a city player being sent off? Just feels that way.
