22A
If all goes to plan, who would you want us to play in a friendly to open the new stadium.. Wonder if Barcelona would be up for it Benfica played the first game at the New Den for Millwall, so your suggestion isn't too far off the mark. Laner
Be nice if everyone SL, guests, the board and us supporters could all walk from the old AG to the new for the opening. Be an amazing sight seeing thousands of people if all ages, all in red and white celebrating the move from old to new. Our show of strength as a truly united and family club. THIS should definately be arranged... including tracksuited squad of all City players from juniors through to firstteam.... & as a cheeky, tongue cheek in recognition to the nimbys/spoilers etc who for spurious reasons caused so many problems, frustrations and delays the march should be headed by Steve Lansdown driving a Big Yellow Taxi. -with a marching band playing the Joni Mitchell classic & 1000's of fans singing the 'paved paradise put up a parking lot' lyric & One For The Bristol City etc!! .... In view of today's news of a new JR, I think we should plan for the grandchildren of SL, the board and many of us fans to do the walk from AG to AV, otherwise it might be a convoy of zimmer frames and mobility scooters! havanatopia
I'd have liked Frank Carson as he would have been the best to crack a joke about us thinking we'd never get a new ground and then would have ripped the shite out of those protestors, laughed his beeming head off and had the stadium in stitches. Sadly he passed away yesterday. Cheers Frank i tort u woz greeeet.
