redcherryberry
Charlton at home when Scott Minto almost caused a riot inside the ground with that challenge. Post match was complete carnage.
SecretSam
Call me a old boring git if you like, but I'm a little surprised at the fond memories being shared on here about violence at football matches. I've been to grounds where its kicked off and I agree that it gets the adrenaline flowing and adds a huge edge to a game, but I'd never be involved in it or condone it in any way. Football is too sanitised but its not violence that's missing today. I can't see the difference between violence at football and in the street in general - someone completely innocent will always be on the receiving end, eventually. +1 I'd never have let my kids go to footie back then, racism and violence were rife. Bananas chucked at Devon White, for example - not one or two, loads. Mahoosive trouble vs Millwall in mid-80s, the game carrying on whilst there was basically a riot going on in one corner of the ground. I remember going to the game on my bike, crossing the river only to find myself in amongst all the Millwall fans, being escorted by pretty much every copper in Bristol. The cops told the Millwall fans to cross the road, and the one nearest me didn't move quick enough, so the copper literally grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and threw him across the road. I'm not lying when I say I nearly sh17 myself with fear, I was only 15 or so. Good times, eh?
Major Isewater
Not a proud moment but gang of west ham in the East end in the old first division . All dispersed through out the stand city from the back ran down to the front. ,only to be met by city from the front running up to the back ,to confront or escape those nasty cockney chappies. As for me ,blocked in the middle totally confused ! Scary moments but i confess the adrénaline flowed (just adrenaline! )and i was prepared to défend my "manor" . I dont agrée with fighting someone just because hé supports another club,We are all brothers and sisters, but i will défend the innocent and weak
i hate rovers
So what was the aim in all this? Opposition fans wanted to try and stay in the home ends? Don't really understand it all if I'm honest.. you got it! the object was to take the oppositions end ie sags v chelsea a all time classic look it up......
