Scrumpy_247
Seeing as the fixtures are out in less than 2 weeks, who would you want on the opening day?
pikeysrobins
The only thing I want for this season as a preference is a home game on Boxing Day. When was the last time that happened??
Scrumpy_247
The last time I recall was Bournemouth in 2006?
Alex_BCFC
I don't mind as long as we don't lose 3 nil. I expect someone will 'leak' some opening fixtures that turn out to be false as usual.
italian dave
When's the balloon fiesta this year? That usually determines whether we're home or away first game

Rocky
We've played our first game at the same time as the balloon fiesta before. Think it's 11/8 when we're away to Bournemouth..
pikeysrobins
The last time I recall was Bournemouth in 2006? Procrastination has set in so I thought I'd follow up my moan about home games on Boxing Day. I decided to put together the games of the last 11 seasons and bloody hell as I thought we don’t get too many home games!! The Gas must have Home/Away games over this time that reflects this! We’ve only won 1 game in the last 7 Boxing Day features! 2001 -2002 Port Vale Away Lost 1-0 2002-2003 Plymouth Home Drew 0-0 2003-2004 Brentford Away Won 2-1 2004-2005 Stockport Away Won 2-1 2005 -2006 Gillingham Away Drew 1-1 2006-2007 Bournemouth Home Drew 2-2 2007-2008 WBA Away Lost 1-4 2008 -2009 Watford Away Won 4-2 2009-2010 QPR Away Lost 1-2 2010-2011 Reading Away Lost 1-4 2011-2012 Coventry Away Lost 0-1 Last 11 seasons Home P W D L F A 2 0 2 0 2 2 Away 9 3 1 5 13 18 Make of it what you will! About as erratic as the last couple of seasons results wise! Seems to me like we are due a home game with a nice 3 points for Xmas. Something we haven’t enjoyed for a while. When was the last time we won at home on Boxing Day??

BCFC Jordan
With any luck we will improve on our record of 3-0 home defeats on the opening day, in recent times... The league is so close this season that every game will be tightly contested, I'm not bothered who we get on the first game, although I'd prefer it to be at home! No wonder I can't remember enjoying Xmas as a City fan at home for a while! Think we've done better over the new year though! A home game does help increase the odds though!!! Taylor10
I would love a home game on the opening day, preferably a winnable one (if there is such a thing) as it would be nice to get off to a good start for a change! Although I think that would probably be asking too much! Obviously it would be very nice to have a home fixture as well on boxing day.

Brizzle Jordan
18th June. I was hoping for Barnsley at home but even if it's them it will no doubt be anything but straight forward. Wolves away. We will bring them back down to the championship with a bump.
Uncle Albert
Barnsley, Watford, Millwall, Pboro or CP... All depends on the transfer activities of the clubs over the summer though. Would love to see us actually get three points on the opening day of the season for once! Saying that, I don't think there's an easy game in the Championship this season. By far and away the toughest league to date..
