Guest
Because "if we don't spend the money now we won't get any". So millions spent on a system noone wants, because they can have the chance of spending money They'd be far better making that old freight route that they want to concrete over part of the line.. trains could go from Ashton Gate across to the docks/watershed. A spur to the centre past the Arnoldfini and somehow reinstate the tunnel under St Mary Redcliffe through to BTM.. although they've knocked the bridge down by the Grovesnor and also a building in the way of the old line. It would be a much better route in or certainly what could be different way in every other hour. Hell then reinstate the old port and pier railway route on the portway, join it up by the create centre too.
Antman
http://www.thisisbri...tail/story.html Part of the Bristol Metro scheme has Ashton Gate as a station, which will make traveling to matches far easier for many. Not sure what the time frame is, but I fully expect to be travelling by train in time for the 2072/73 season.....after getting a rocket from Mars into Bristol Galatic space port i laughed out loud - very good!!!
