Little piece of history... the 6-1 City home win in 1989 was in the midweek following Hillsborough when all of football was in shock. There was a minute silence at every game including Ashton Gate and it seemed to fire everyone up. I remember John Bailey our ex-Everton left back and a true scouse being very emotional about it all. In the run up to the game there had been calls for Joe Jordon to be sacked, despite the recent run to the league cup semi final, as we were struggling in the league.
