A Freedom of Information request by The Sunday Times in 2012 revealed that Blair's government considered knighting Syria's President Bashar al-Assad. The documents also showed that Blair was willing to appear alongside Assad at a joint press conference even though the Syrians would probably have settled for a farewell handshake for the cameras; British officials sought to manipulate the media to portray Assad in a favourable light; and Blair's aides tried to help Assad's "photogenic" wife boost her profile. The newspaper noted:

The Arab leader was granted audiences with the Queen and the Prince of Wales, lunch with Blair at Downing Street, a platform in parliament and many other privileges. . . . The red carpet treatment he and his entourage received is embarrassing given the
that has since taken place under his rule in Syria. . . . The courtship has parallels with Blair's friendly relations with
.

Blair had been on friendly terms with Colonel Muammar Gaddafi of Libya, when sanctions imposed on Libya were lifted by United States and United Kingdom.[130][131] Even after the Libyan civil war in 2011, he said he had no regrets about his close relationship with the late Libyan leader.[132] During Blair's premiership, MI6 rendered Abdel Hakim Belhaj to the Gaddafi regime in 2004, though Blair later claimed he had "no recollection" of the incident.[133]

Excellent post. Had the known liar and EU loving traitor Tony Blair been around in 1940 I've no doubt that he would have been in negotiation with Herr Adolf Hitler to sell Great Britain out to Hitler's very own Third Reich European Union project. Tony Blair would have sold Great Britain to Hitler for a few million quid just as Judas betrayed Jesus for a few pieces of silver.

If the Labour Party loving BBC stopped bigging up the Labour Party and their beloved EU project then we'd have far fewer Labour Party MPs, EU loving Tory MPs, and EU loving Lib Dem MPs. I'll ask again.......Can any Labour Party member or voter tell me what popular democratic electoral mandate - i.e. electoral votes - that their EU leader - Lady Catherine Ashton - has from the British people ?????!!!! :cool2: What democratic mandate has she got to occupy such a senior position in the EU?

It's also about time that the Trades Union movement withdrew their financial support for New Labour as the New Labour High Command has been hijacked by politically correct Cultural Marxist college lecturers and lawyers. The Labour Party was set up to help people who actually work for a living in crap paid jobs but the Labour Party is now a vehicle for middle class Oxbridge educated Cultural Marxists to alienate and subjugate English workers and their families.

I didn't realise the BBC tells everyone how to vote, but there you go, I take a rather saner view than you my old chum. :-)

I'm not a Labour party member but I can tell you that Catherine Ashton is - like other EU officials - not directly elected. She isn't Labour's leader in the EU, she is basically a European civil servant in charge of representing EU foreign policy to non-member states. She was elected to this role by members of the European Council.

There are lots of other non-elected EU officials. Chris Patten and Leon Brittan are examples of politicians from Gobbers' beloved Tory Party who have served as unelected commissioners for the EU.

Dear Sir Michael Lyons

Re: The Royal Charter of the BBC, & the Treason & Felony Act, 1848

Notice Before Action.

It has been brought to my attention that the Corporation has received and is now receiving substantial amounts of funding from the European Union, in breach of Charter Provisions, and that in consequence of this very suspect arrangement the BBC is now reduced to the function of providing both broadcasting & propaganda facilities to a form of alien authority that fails to acknowledge the Supreme Authority of the British Crown.

I must advise you that all such conduct serves to breach the provisions of the Treason Act, 1351 with the further provisions of the Treason & Felony Act, 1848.

In addition, I must advise that the Treason & Felony Act of 1848 provides that it is a Criminal Offence for Subjects of the Crown to give aid or comfort to Traitors, and that this offence is punishable by imprisonment for life.

I am concerned for my own position and I must ask you to cease and desist from all treacherous conduct & financial arrangements, without delay.

Unless I receive your written assurance that the Corporation will issue an immediate public apology for all Treason committed thus far, with your further guarantee that the Corporation will cease and desist from all and any conduct that fails to maintain the Supremacy of the British Crown, then I must give fair warning of my intention to discontinue the payment of all such moneys as are now being applied to the financial support of the BBC.

I look forward to receipt of your immediate response to this present letter and I give notice that payments in support of the BBC will be suspended, unless I receive a satisfactory response within 14 days of this present date.

Yours faithfully,

It just goes to show how crap the EU is when has been Tories such as the BBC's Chris Patten and Leon Brittan can get top jobs in the EU project. The pseudo socialist with aristocratic title - Lady Catherine Ashton - gets a £328,000 annual salary from the EU and thus our taxes. Even the President of the USA earns no where near that much !!!!!!!

The editor of The Spectator magazine, and former editor of BBC Radio 4's Today programme (a BBC programme that even I actually like), Rod Liddle, wrote of Labour's Lady Catherine Ashton: "Never elected by anyone, anywhere, totally unqualified for almost every job she has done, she has risen to her current position presumably through a combination of down-the-line Stalinist political correctness and the fact that she has the charisma of a caravan site on the Isle of Sheppey."According to The Guardian, an anonymous Whitehall source remarked: "Cathy just got lucky...The appointment of her and Herman Van Rompuy (as European Council president) was a complete disgrace. They are no more than garden gnomes." :D

I've no idea whether she's sh.it or sugar. She might be great at her job, but you do wonder why the EU needs a 'foreign minister' don't you.

I hope you are just as angry about Baroness Warsi - the UK cabinet minister who has never been elected to any post ever.

She "just got lucky" too. Holding down the well-paid position of Communities Secretary whilst working as a solicitor. She managed to attend just 31 votes last year! Lucky too in that the CPS decided not to prosecute her for claiming housing allowance while staying rent-free in the house of a Tory friend - and 'forgeting' to declare her rental income for her own home!

She's pretty forgetful for a lawyer! 'Forgeting' that she wasn't supposed to fly a business partner at tax-payers expense to Pakistan and 'forgeting' to mention her commercial interest in his company when she introduced him to David Cameron.

Was think of she, then Gobbers?

It just shows how corrupt the Police lawyer CPS are in not prosecuting fellow lawyer Baroness Warsi. I'm not sure why you think I'm a Tory - especially a Tory lawyer lover. I share William Shakespeare's sentiments: “First thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.” (Shakespeare, King Henry VI, Part II, IV, ii 86-87).

I reckon it's a pretty good letter template and it sends the right message to the BBC propaganda news agency that their continuing bigging up of various EU loving Lib-Lab-Con traitor politicians is being opposed where it hurts them most.

Just that you seem very keen to highlight the unelected crony-ista placemen (and woman) of one party and not the others.....

The Lib Dems are quite right, the whole phony 'life peer' system should be abolished.

It's nonsense AFAIK. For a start, Michael Lyons isn't the chairman of the Trust any more. If you get that wrong, how much of the rest of the letter will be pony???

But I am genuinely surprised at you RG for subscribing to some populist rabble-rousing attempt at starting a campaign originating from what is effectively a splinter group of the BNP. Read the link I posted. Britain First and Kevin Edwards - the devisor of the letter you reproduce - is a racist fruit loop.

You might not like the EU [nor do I!] but I know you're not a racist or a facist. Do not succumb to their false flag operations, me son.

...however, I'd substitute 'a form of alien authority' for 'the enemy alien EU authority that has absolutely no democratic mandate to subjugate, tax, and coerce the British people'

Anyway, what do you think of the incident below where lawyers acting for the BBC are openly persecuting a 70 year old patriot ????!!!!.....

Anti-BBC political activist fined over TV licence

By Melanie Hall

June 08, 2010

A 70-YEAR-OLD man was fined £615 after refusing to pay his TV licence on moral grounds, claiming to be a conscientious objector and comparing himself to soldiers who refuse to go to war.

UK Independence Party activist Tony Stone, from Home Park in Oxted, did not pay his licence because he said the BBC was biased against his political party and that the broadcasting corporation was running a “protection racket”.

Guildford Magistrates' Court heard on Friday that Stone was visited by a TV licensing officer last October as the result of a letter printed in the Daily Telegraph in which he stated that he was refusing to pay.

According to the officer, when asked how long he had watched television without a licence, Stone replied: “Five years”.

Stone, who represented himself in court, said: “I’m an objector of true conscience on a par with those who refuse to fight in the war.

“The TV licence fee is tantamount to a protection racket sanctioned by the state.

“It is the same situation as if I were required to take out a subscription to a left wing newspaper like the Guardian, which I have never taken, before I can get a copy of the Daily Mail.

“If that situation existed, obviously people would be up in arms.”

However, the magistrates told Stone that only the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords could deal with his moral dispute with the law.

Instead, the UKIP activist was told that only his TV licence breach would be dealt with rather than his legal challenge, although Stone insisted on calling a Russian dissident and a UKIP Euro MP as witnesses.

The court heard Vladimir Bukovsky, who founded a campaigning group called TV Licence Refuseniks, recount his battle to avoid paying the fee, despite the magistrates repeatedly reminding him to stick to the point.

Mr Bukovsky said: “In 2002 I realised that TV reporting is very biased.

“There’s a contract where it says they [the BBC] are obliged to be impartial, to cover all the subjects of interest to society today, even controversial ones. So if they are not doing that, we are not obliged to pay.”

"Completely underhand"

The clerk of the court warned Mr Bukovsky to stick to the facts after he claimed that he received a letter saying he would be deported to outer Russia.

“Ever since I refused to pay, I’ve received several letters, one letter more frightening than the other, like one saying I’m going to be shipped off to Siberia in chains,” he told the court.

He said that in 2005, a TV licensing officer asked if he watched television, and after saying that he did not he received a letter informing him that he was not committing a crime.

Mr Bukovsky added: “I was defending human rights and freedom of speech in the Soviet Union. That probably made me very sensitive to brain washing and propaganda.

“I was watching BBC becoming more and more in favour of Europe. We are in the first stage of freedom deprivation.”

Stone said: “They found a way to excuse you from prosecution, but me, Joe Bloggs, who has no public profile, am taken to court.”

UKIP MEP Gerard Batten, who is also refusing to pay for a TV licence on the same grounds, said: “I’m part of Mr Bukovsky’s campaign which is people withholding TV licence money.

"Last year was the straw that broke the camel’s back when [bBC reporter] Mark Mardell labelled UKIP MEPs as being totally useless.

“I have probably made about 180 speeches in the European Parliament, but the BBC have never once asked to speak to me.

“They [TV licensing officers] came to my house last February and are now prosecuting my wife for not having a TV licence, even though I pay all the bills. This is a completely underhand tactic.”

However, prosecuting solicitor Sam Clyndes said: “The witnesses’ experiences are illustrative of nothing.”

Stone claimed that when TV licensing officers called at his house they lured him into turning on the set, making him break the law.

Mr Clyndes said: “The offence is not turning on the TV, it’s failing to pay.

“No-one is forcing Mr Stone to buy a TV and no-one is forcing him to turn it on. A licence is very different to a tax.

“It’s illegal to own a TV in this country without a licence. If you don’t want to fall foul of this law, don’t have a TV.”

Send him to the Gulags! Or kick him in the goolags :pinch:

If you're interested in the facts, rather than the made-up ramblings of a Welsh fascist, here is how the BBC is funded:

  • £3,606.3 million in licence fees collected from householders;
  • £222 million from BBC Commercial Businesses;
  • £279.4 million from government grants;
  • £271.9 million from other income, such as providing content to overseas broadcasters and concert ticket sales.
