CiderArmyy
what time would they take the covers off? 1.30? If it pisses down like it did against watford for one hour and a half it could still be called off. They should take the covers off at 2, 2.15. BCFC101
I seen somewhere (not sure where know) that the rules state that covers have to be off at least 3 hours before kick-off. Could be wrong though.

22A
My son (a Posh ST holder) has heard (text from another Posh fan) the pitch is covered, but the game MAY still be off if the heavy rain continues.
MichaelRobartes
According to the deadsite the pitch was fine before it was covered: 'The coverings will be left on until as late as possible tomorrow, with heavy downpours expected throughout today and in the morning. However, as things stand the pitch is in a perfectly playable state.'

Aizoon
So they have to take the covers off three hours before the KO, so that the storm at 1 pm will render the pitch unplayable. H'mm... Sounds like football authorities to me.

H'mm... Sounds like football authorities to me. We should be pleased that the MCC aren't running the show. I've been to cricket matches where there's been no play all morning, then the rain stops and the umpires decide to take tea at 3pm before inspecting the pitch thus further delaying the start of play. It's comical.
Aizoon
Pitch will sweat under the covers causing moisture. Not as much as if it's uncovered and persisted on for two hours!
Talk Of The Town
Not as much as if it's uncovered and persisted on for two hours! Indeed. A decision would be made based on the forecast. If no rain, covers would come off to allow pitch to breath. Don't forget the players will need to come out to warm up and stretch off
