We'll probably pay well over the odds on salary to make sure we get him....he'll then turn out to be rubbish & will end up at Ravers on a free...

Not EVERY player for scotland is shit...

Everyone on here wanted Dorrans and he came from scottland, Livingston!

Also see Charlie Adam...

I have seen him once or twice and looks better than what we have. I know players from Scotland are usually frowned upon, but for a small fee it really does represent little risk.

He is young and able to improve. It could well turn out to be a cheeky deal. I know we need experience but he has held his own in the SPL.

We would all be moaning if we signed another journeyman, and I for one have had enough of over paid journeymen.

It's a sign of the times, and we need to be shrewd in the market. I think it would be a positive signing should it go through.

Xenophobia strikes again....

I have just seen this comment. Just because i don't rate Scottish footballers doesn't mean i hate foreigners. Have you taken the time to consider that i may be Scottish myself?

My comment is based on a history of poor signings from Scotland. Derrick McKiness proves my point exactly.

Rant over.

That's not even an incident is it?! Jesus.

Be nice if we had a bit of bite in midfield, too many pussies in a mans league.

I'm not saying he's done anything wrong there, I just wondered if he's hot headed. He was in the right but everyone knows how quickly a referee can turn blame to the guy being "aggressive".

5ft 9in see little man,

Scottish one cap man,

playing for Killy,

zero exepieremce at this level

So, it will no doubt take him 3/4months to adjust, by which point we'll be dead and buried and he'll want out in league one.

As others said, sick of signing shit from scotland

Liam Kelly is very similar to bryson, terrific engine, does the dirty work, plays for the jersey, 100%er, can play sitting midfielder or pushed on to attack he can score goals, lately developing into a penalty specialist. Shooting from long range can be potent as well. full Scotland honours playing for us at 22 is no mean feat either!! Kelly was the heir to brysons throne but could they both play in the same team, definitely!!! just hope we get decent cash for him!!!

This is from the Killie fans forum in response to a Derby fan who was hoping to sign another Craig Bryson. They got Bryson from Killie and is fan was hoping that Derby might sign Kelly.

You was moaning about us throwing money around the other day. Can't have it both ways.

Let's be honest, all our proven signings with Championship experience have hardly set the world alight (or not been allowed to).

We are better off signing this type of player IMO, young, hungry, affordable wages (I would think) and something to prove.

Just wanted to add to this that I have heard from someone who has played against Kelly twice this season (and in fact Kelly scored against him!). His comments were :

"Liam Kelly yeah! Very good player, likes to play, got a goal in him too. £150k? That'll be a bargain. Although not sure he's everything you'll want for a relegation scrap".

Make of that what you will, but personally, I like it, and he would appear to be one of the 'better' prospects north of the border.

this is what a killie fan thinks of us! :laughcont::facepalm:

As for Liam, I definitely think he's good enough for the Championship, but Bristol City are not the team for him. They are never going to go any higher, and Championship survival is the limit of their ambition/realistic expectation. A better option would be the likes of Leeds, Boro or (daft as it sounds) Forest, where the club's ambitions for advancement would match his own.
