Seems I'm not as thick skinned as I thought.EMB will tell you I'm quite liberal and I don't care for executing people who commit crime but this nearly made me change my mind! I appreciate the honesty, what I find particularly mind numbing about this case is his lack of remorse or empathy for the victims. The police do not come out of this very well again but the senior officer has said he could end up being the most prolific paedophile in British legal history. He has been named, they haven't. They actively took part in the abuse on more than one occasion, no excuses. Even if they have low intelligence, under the influence of drink or drugs they still knew what they were doing was very, very wrong. The police have to be sure they didn't have access to other children , brothers, sisters, friends and relatives etc. I would guarantee that although the abuse they did ended up at he top of the scale they would have done other stuff before, possibly for this bloke. He made a phone call which was recorded saying somewhere on the lines "I don't know why everyone is getting so jumped about it. I've done nothing wrong, I only pleaded guilty so the case would be over and done with quickly, you know I'm not a pedophile". Well If your saying your not a pedophile, then surely you would of pleaded not guilty and fought against the case? A very sick man with a twisted evil mind. It makes me shiver to think that other children maybe being subjected to this type of abuse as we tap away on our iPads, laptops and so on. The other question Id ask in this case is why a rock star like Watkins should want to abuse babies and children in this way. Because it has nothing to do with sexuality and everything to do with perversion. Transgressive behaviour like this is a turn on for some sick ***** due to the sheer social unnacceptability of it, then there's the forcing your will on the defenceless - a thrill for various head****** individuals. If there is one good thing about this hideous case it is that the children assaulted were so young they will remember nothing about it and they are likely to enjoy better lives with loving foster parents then they would've done with their vile mums. Very intrigued to read this report once it becomes available, I have a feeling I may regret it afterward though. I'm glad the judge didn't back off in awarding that sentence. Once you read the report you will see the reason the mob warfare is encouraged. Like others I stopped reading the report it is really the worst thing that I have read and find it sickening that someone not only does these acts to children, but the mothers that actually consented to this are vile creatures as well. I think the sound money would be on life to serve a minimum tariff of 12 years. That'd be my (semi) educated guess. If I am wrong - I genuinely apologise - but if not, seriously, don't go into work ever again. The standards will rise after that question you just asked. Indeed, I spent 38 years in psychiatry in the NHS. The last the last 28 of which were spent as a counsellor specialising alcohol dependency. As part of my training I spent almost a year working and counselling sex offenders of all kinds. Consequently I fully understand what lies behind Watkins crimes. There was a hidden agenda behind the question I asked about why because it's a question not many lay men would ask, not because I didn't get it.
