Goals Last Night

Shambolic defending.  Real school boy stuff.

How many defenders do we have to buy though to sort it out?  SOD in the market for another one apparently.

Perhaps we do need a new left back.  We seem to sign players and then need shot of them after a year.  Could do with Flint and Cunningham moving on!

We have got a defender playing in the championship. Perhaps get him back.

I noticed last night that Cunningham, Williams and Osborne were all pressing... however Maloney and Flint were giving their opposite numbers way too much space and sitting too deep. If both Maloney and Flint were pressing higher, the player for the second goal would have been offside.

It happened on a couple occasions where Flint kept players onside and wasn't pressing with the rest of the defence.

On a positive note...if he can learn to direct his headers at corners then he can be a real threat. He missed the target with two sitters from corners last night...after doing all the hard work...shame.

Cunningham wasn't at fault for their second, JET was meant to be picking up there winger and just continued to walk instead of tracking back with him

Said that at the time. JET made the run to cover GC, but then failed to stay with the man he was tracking. Parish had a shocker with the shot, but they never should have got the shot away in the first place.

I have a feeling that the defender that SOD is alleged to be signing on loan this week, might be more of a back 3 specialist.

Tbh... apart from the two goals... City played well yesterday.

SoD made a plan to nullify Orient and it pretty much worked. No one panicked and the team was composed in possession and when defending.

The only time it looked disjointed was when Bryan and Elliot came on...although they didn't get time to settle tbh.

SoD did the right thing... Orient have the best away record in this league... 7 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss... scoring 24 and only conceding 10. That's a fantastic away record...  we never looked like losing.

Someone said Orient looked poor... I would disagree with that. That were a confident well organised side, that defended and attacked in numbers.

What crossed my mind, was that Orient were quiet poor for the last two seasons... but they stuck by their plans and manager and are now reaping the benefits.

I was particularly impressed with their French midfielder Romain Vincelot... a real bustling no nonsense central midfielder... although Pack and Gillet both put in good performances for us too...an enjoyable game to watch I thought.

That's pretty much the report I had from someone on here, SOD needs to stick to a system with just very minor adjustments, changing systems for this group is not working.
