If We Get To The Etihad..

Who Are Rovers?

Recommended Posts

We would sell out whatever the allocation! The last time we had a similar tie was Liverpool 20 years ago and we sold out then, something like 9,000..even though Liverpool didn't!

We would take 10k plus,if they gave us that many tickets.

Also, don't forget Liverpool was a midweek evening game, this would be 3pm Saturday.

Think someone else mentioned it, the amount of fans who would buy a ticket simply because of it being Man City and not go to other games makes me wish there was some sort of system in place that if you produce a ticket from a previous round of the cup you can get a ticket before general sale

if we get there could be changed for tv coverage.

as long as ST holders get priority then the rest will be swept up by everyone else.

can't see us not selling out our allocation. Matches like this dont come around too often.

still a big if though!

I agree with all the earlier posts, if it was to be Manchester City v Bristol City we would sell 7000 easily. And before people talk too much about fans coming out of the woodwork, remember that there are close on 12000 at the Gate every week for League One football, it would only need just over 50% of them to travel to fill the allocation.

No way it would be on tv! nobody would give us a hope of winning at the Etihad, it would have been on TV if it had been at Ashton.

Will be st holders first then anyone with tickets from previous rounds id assume.. Tickets would be very unlikely to get to general sale

TV and Police permitting.

Man C v a league 1 outfit could be a draw for TV who won't be showing a 3.00pm Saturday start.

Are man U due to be at home in the League that day? If so the game could potentially be moved to anywhere between Friday night and Monday night of that weekend.

Whats really important is that we take a big crowd to watford, lets forget the Ethiad for now.

As Watford's ground is under construction, it lacks the intimidation factor as it is, if we could get say 3,000 up there, then i think that and the man city draw could inspire the team on to something special on a cold january tuesday night?

All the part timers would come out the woodwork like Wembley too, IF we get there I'll be there for sure

The "part timers" tag always annoys me. I'm a part timer by necessity, because I have two young kids and don't have the time or the money to go every week. Therefore I cherry pick my games and, yes, a trip to the Etihad would certainly be near the top of the list. Don't see anything wrong with that.

Would've been much better at Maine Road!

Went there on one of those "Football specials" ran by the club and British Rail

On arrival at Manchester the law packed us all into waiting double decker buses and escorted them to a park near Maine Road , many a skin touched glass that bus ride i can tell you, then they marched us all up the little coronation streets to the ground with all the residents standing in their doorways watching us go by...

The law were being quite bullish during the escort and at one point when a chant started up the main dude on his horse shouted "no singing" so after a few seconds silence everyone began humming....

Good trips them specials

I used to live in one of those coronation street looky likeys by Maine Road. The local spermers used to run the old '50p to watch your car mister' racket on match days.

Can't get excited by the (potential) tie if I'm honest

20 years ago, at Maine Road, when we'd have stood half a chance then yeah, I'd have been up for it. Going to The Etihad to play Citeh's 4ths - I'll give that a miss thanks

Can only think that if we do get through, and get an absolute bollocking up there that it may just derail any momentum we had under SC

As nice as a Cup run would be, I'd rather it was happening whilst we aren't fighting relegation to Division 4
