BS4 on Tour...
....their game is off AGAIN tonight! This is getting ridiculous! The Right Honourable Les Q
Well, if the "PC" brigade will insist on admitting these non-league clubs into the football league...what do we expect?
Alex#40
Should have FA sanctions, points or whatever but this is ridiculous.

The Right Honourable Les Q
Having said that, it is their own field, cow patch or not. Unlike some clubs we could mention, using/ thieving other people's pitches for 60, 70 years...
Lrrr
It's a joke how they're allowed a crap grass pitch but lower teams out of the league who have 3G or similar pitches are told they can't move higher up the leagues because of their pitch

City1970
Some clubs have been refused promotion from the conference because their grounds didn't meet football league standards. I assume that includes the playing surface.

Rudolf Hucker
Were there to be such obviously poor facilities in lower leagues such as the Gloucester County then clubs would no doubt face relegation - they certainly would not have been granted promotion in the first place. It's a poor state of affairs. Yes we've had dire weather of late in the UK but no worse in the south-east than in the south-west. Even the Gas have managed to play on their soon-to-be-a-supermarket-where-a-war-memorial-should-rightly-remain. Sort it out Creepy.

Their pitch is clearly not fit to host league matches, they should be fined heavily or kicked out! Their pitch is a mess, water logged and no drainage they are going to have three games a week at this rate.... It was a two a week till the end of the season. Rich-TWSC-
Remember Rovers doing it one season they got relegated. 2000-2001? I remember them going in to the final week with a couple of games in hand (at home) and they lost both of them thus getting relegated.
Aizoon
Perhaps our neighbours should offer Crawley the use of their swamp for home games. They would at least be familiar with the surface...

MichaelRobartes
If they aren't able to fulfill their home fixtures by the end of the season then presumably they automatically forfeit those matches and the opponents are awarded three points? samo II
Ridiculous. Absolutely no guarantee that at least one or more of the rearranged games won't get called off as well, and if that happens, completing their schedule has to be in question, which I hope the league frowns upon, and punishes. Aizoon
If they're unable to fulfil their fixtures, they are expelled from the League and all their previous results are voided. Is that not what happened to Gateshead?
MichaelRobartes
Think they'd only do that if they couldn't play a game a day or something Sure they'd do all they could to avoid that scenario but time is running out for them. Could they play elsewhere? They must be getting nervous now. If they're unable to fulfil their fixtures, they are expelled from the League and all their previous results are voided. Is that not what happened to Gateshead? If this happens would it mean one less relegated team from the division?
petehinton
Need to have FA Stadium regulations for every league. It's embarrassing.
Calculus
According to the BBC it was called off 75 minutes before kick off. Tranmere and their fans must have been down there. Shambles. I hope Tranny are compensated.
Northern Red
Yeah, often see a non league side playing like this at the end of the season Yes it's not uncommon for non league sides to play Sat/Mon/Wed or Sat/Tue/Thu towards the end of the season. In the North West Counties league up here last year we had some teams playing 4 games in 5 days at the very end of the season just to get them in. Need to have FA Stadium regulations for every league. It's embarrassing. They do have regulations, but it only applies to floodlights, stands etc, not pitches. However I suspect Crawley might be getting a visit from the inspectors, if they haven't had one already. If needs be they would have to play their games at a neutral venue, Gateshead had to do this in the Conference last season.
Northern Red
According to the BBC it was called off 75 minutes before kick off. Tranmere and their fans must have been down there. Shambles. I hope Tranny are compensated. From the Crawley website: After consulting with the Football League he had the option of delaying kick off until 8.45pm to allow further work to be completed by the ground staff. But after a further pitch check when the Tranmere squad arrived he decided the work would not be completed in time to get the pitch playable. The club then offered to play the game on Wednesday night, but the offer was politely declined by Tranmere.... ...The club will now consult with Tranmere, as it has done with Carlisle, to offer travelling supporters compensation. wayne allisons tongues
Must be costing them a fortune to have to keep paying out compensation to the opposition each time it's called off.
