kachina
According to someone I know who supports Bournemouth, they are planning to offer Wade a 12 month deal. I do hope we are planning to offer him something !
Barrs Court Red
He's done well but I'd rather see younger players than him brought in.
Chappers
Might have been nice, and would not be surprised if we have offered something. Ultimately, we may be outbid and the days of stretching our budget are long gone. If we can't get him, move on.
BRISTOL86
That's the danger, whilst we are in the third tier, we can and will lose out on targets to low end Championship clubs. We can only hope that we are prepared to offer him something and that being familiar with the players already and/or hopefully liking it in Bristol, he would want to sign. But he's not getting any younger and is going to probably want to play at the highest level possible for the highest wage possible at this stage in his career, and who can blame him. bristolcitysweden
If so there is far better options in Sweden. Fifteen years younger playing at a higher level and with a future in the game.
BRISTOL86
He's done well but I'd rather see younger players than him brought in. The experience that Cotterill bought in is what got us out of the mess we were in. With Marvin and Pearson gone, there is a distinct lack of more experienced heads in the squad. Balance is required. bristolcitysweden
Didn't you say they were playing at a higher level? Swedish prem top flight is comparable to lower PL standard. Helsingborg trashed City 4-0 summer 2010.

In that case, players playing at that level are hardly likely to come to us then. Unless they are motivated purely by money in which case you won't want us to sign them. bristolcitysweden
Need to be spotted before they get their breakthrough meaning you have to know your football and trust your own opinion Sallary likely to be lower in L1. Most gifted players sign for Dutch prem sides. Eventually.

bristolcitysweden
We have fans who in recent years have been on the board for Swedish prem & L1 sides. We have one fan scouting for a Championship side. We can easily send 20 people over on trail who would strengthen the team on less money. . Swedish Prem top flight is comparable to mid championship. Friendlies count for nothing. Look at Cardiff for example.
Red-Robbo
Good god no! Won the Norwegian League twice after City. Norway might be a small country but managed to beat the Ron Greenwood England ("Maggie Thatcher - your boys took one hell of a beating") and held a 30-year unbeaten record v England. Last year our u21 national side got twatted by them.

Last year our u21 national side got twatted by them. Exactly... one of my biggest disappointments was seeing Benny leave City. Anyone remember this story and the supposed association we had with a german club...looks like nothing ever happened. Btw...Benny is 71 now...probably sat with his feet up somewhere... quote... BRISTOL CITY striker Ben Wright is to join Viking Stanvager on a week's trial, as West Country club look to establish a player exchange scheme with their Norwegian counterparts. Viking are currently coached by former City boss Benny Lennartsson, who discussed the proposal with current Robins boss Danny Wilson (pictured) on a recent visit to Ashton Gate, when he came over to watch the World Cup qualifying match between Wales and Norway. "Viking are a big club in Norway and it will be good for lads like Ben to spend some time there," said Wilson. Despite an ill-fated spell in charge of City, Lennartsson's work with the youth players at Ashton Gate earned him an excellent reputation at the club, and Robins chairman John Laycock has said that he is very much looking forward to re-establishing links with the former boss. "It was great to see Benny back at Ashton Gate the other day," said Laycock. "We look forward to an association with him again."
