Robin1988
Assuming this is probably a standard letter which goes out and, not being amended, led to ambiguity about whether tickets could be purchased or not. Hence why on the S****horpe website it stated there was no POTD but also listed the prices. Also worth pointing out that if SUFC staff knew there was no POTD (evidently they did, since they wrote it on their website) then it would have been wise to remove the matchday prices from their site. ironbrunet
it said no pay on the gate (ie. cash admission on turnstyle) but that they were available from BCFC ticket office.
Monkeh
it said no pay on the gate (ie. cash admission on turnstyle) but that they were available from BCFC ticket office. yet our club told you that this isn't the case, you should be venting your spleen at your ticket office for providing you with false information
NickJ
The bottom line is there were empty seats in the away end but Scunny fans were told they couldn't use them.No matter what the Scunny website said, that is just plain bonkers. Juse curious how "official" is this site? Does it have links with Scunthorpe FC? Joking aside, just imagine if we had had another scenario like the Leeds fans a few years back . . . . RedRock
Can't believe that our standard letter includes pay on the day prices. Why would we include those prices when away fans cannot gain entry? No matter what was said verbally, people will tend to trust what's written down in black and white. Would have thought someone from our Club would be checking visiting club's websites anyhow to ensure correct info is provided for away fans. Takes what, a couple of minutes? Surely it's part of some system protocol to do this? If not, it should be. If Donny's site hasn't mentioned 'no POTD for visiting fans' then someone from our Club should be on the blower to them now. Anyhow, sure our Club will be found innocent and it's all their fault!

Admin phantom Posted September 8, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 What are you on about? Assume you mean Leeds reference? The club knowingly let Leeds fans into the Dolman stand and the rest was history..... Who would the finger of blame been pointed at if the same thing had happened with a Scunthorpe supporter on Saturday?

Robin1988
Slight difference between Leeds and Scunny. Course there is, but football is football to a point, and Phantom's right.
Admin phantom Posted September 8, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 Slight difference between Leeds and Scunny. Maybe but only takes "two to tango", and probably a bit naive to assume that supporters of Leeds are the only ones who may cause an issue?
havanatopia
Like I said previously and this may or may not have been picked up by Dave L: - BCFC should re-write their letter and send it, recorded delivery, to every single football club in League 1 and any others that may be coming to the Gate for a cup game.. and they should do it now and clear up any ambiguity whether that is City's fault or another club it matters little. Just get on and correct the obvious ambiguity. Simples.
Leveller
It there is POTD anywhere in the ground, what is to stop an away fan simply buying a ticket in the home seats and walking in??

Admin phantom Posted September 10, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted September 10, 2014 Yes, some had to. I wonder at how many grounds if there was no POTD for away supporters they would openly let you buy a ticket in a home section of the ground? glynriley
I wonder how City would have dealt with the "You can't ban a Chelsea fan" lot back in the early 80's??
Dave L
Just to (hopefully) put this to bed once and for all. We told S****horpe (twice) that there would no ticket sales on the day. The last time was a few days before the game. All other clubs have also been told this, and we make a phone call to each club when we release tickets to confirm it. Some S****horpe fans may have ended up buying tickets in home stands without telling us, but we didn't knowingly sell them tickets in home areas and we would never do this. We apologise to any S****horpe fan who made a long journey and either didn't get in or ended up in a home area, but any mistake on their website was entirely S****horpe's responsibility and not ours. The two clubs have been in touch and this has all been resolved.
Admin phantom Posted September 10, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted September 10, 2014 The two clubs have been in touch and this has all been resolved. WhistleHappy
Would be nice now if S****horpe could recognise this on their websites to clear it up for their end ....& offer identifiable travelling fans, who didn't get in to the game, free matchdayprogrammes and food vouchers, even a nice brick with their names engraved on it by way of compensation. Take a leaf out of City's state of the art customer service handbook Scunny - you know it makes sense.
