Listening to 606, it was pointed out that Forest have now had five managers in 2 1/2 years.

A Forest fan rang in to say they had the fans and money had been thrown at the team, but never time for the Managers. "We've had O'Driscoll, Cotterill and others, but none of them were ever given time to build a team"

remind me a lot of Newcastle & Spurs, in that they think that they are better than they are ....

It's strange how club legends rarely do the business back at their clubs as manager.

Eg Brian Tinnion here, Bryan Gunn at Norwich, Alan Shearer at the Toon, Glenn Hoddle at Spurs etc etc.

Obviously there are exceptions (Howard Kendall at Everton) but it just seems that the unwritten rule is 'don't go back cos you will harm your reputation with the fans who worship you...'

Any of those managers ever go on to be successful?

Which, ironically, is exactly what those two managers have done for us, in a relatively short time span.

SOD may have left some of the tools, but Cotts built the team.

Take your point on those but Shearer is a bit harsh.

He had a shocking job on his hands with players that couldn't give a toss.

Hardly surprising. Shockingly bad manager.

Yup.

A fair few with less insight bristled when Danny Mills pointed out he was crap, but despite Mills obviously having an axe to grind, not sure he did anything other than tell the truth, albeit a bit directly.

Probably be back in a job inside 12 months, mind you. Knows far too many old boys not to be.
