Back to the cricket itself, Western Storm beat Surrey Stars to reach the final and are currently playing a very entertaining match against Southern Vipers.

Just like the football, the standard is not as high as the men, but it was most certainly a very exciting semi-final.

62 needed from 67 with only 2 down, looking OK

Wonder what went wrong with Ryan. Homesick possibly? Was a big move to make at 19

Another one pissed off with the things at Somerset, had many chats with him in Weston, just disallusioned with all things Somerset

Had the deal with Edgbaston changed? I thought they got finals day every year (for a few years) as they gave up getting certain international games. Noticed they've got 2 next year as well as finals day.

Guess that all changed when counties started bidding for these games

As I understand things, he was promised First XI cricket, but was replaced by Steve Davies when he failed to produce the runs.

A shame, really, as he is certainly a topclass wicketkeeper - a victim of the current requirement for run scoring keepers whose ability to score runs outweighs their pure wicketkeeping abilities.

Tom Abell actually getting a bit of form - this possibly may not be a bad score considering it is the same wicket used for the T20 finals day

Wonder if there will be questions asked about using an old pitch after the low scores involved.

Given the table Somerset need to start being brave so I'd agree, maybe at most a quickish 125 to push it to 400 but a declaration can't be far off, before tea for sure. Yorkshire looks like they're heading for a draw so we need to start bettering their results.
