One BCFC
Took 1hr 35 from Trowbridge. Took 45 minutes to get to Brislington itself the rest was a nightmare. Bridge closed by Harbourside is ridiculous, traffic lights not in sync with one another and people ignoring the yellow box junctions. Ridiculous, added to the fact you cant park hardly anywhere near AG due to double yellows everywhere.
RedRaw
Well, I must have found a wormhole from Filton to Ashton......left at 5.00 and was parked up in my usual slot at 5.40. Southmead road, henleaze, across the downs, ladies mile, bridge valley, portway, Cumberland basin.....bang! In the sports bar by 6.

For us not to have any specials from the Shirehampton site is just plain stupid if not a tactic. Buses do run from there but do not cross the Hotwells flyover. The only way large crowds will get to the ground next season is if the club liases and subsidies "specials" from the parks and rides scattered around Bristol. But all the park and ride sites are useless for evening games because they shut before the end of the match.

Guest
I left just outside Basildon at 4pm. I hit the M32 junction at 7pm and abandoned that plan, came off at Porrtishead and up the 369. That was screwed at rownham so went over bridge and down by Avon Gorrge hotel, over the flyover and through eventually to RT HQ at 7:50. I was in Reading at 6pm ffs! Zebra crossings all over St Mary Redcliffe was damn stupid. If anywhere needed an underpass or traffic light controlled crossing it's there. The zebra crossing on redcliffe way by the casino is hands down the worst thing in Bristol. It has such a constant flow of pedestrians you simply cannot pass it at times. underpasses, yeah like the one at the bear pit that the council have now deemed unneeded and put in more lights and surface crossings on the roundabout. That particular crossing could be fixed within months if all were pragmatic and for a small cost: sack off some car parking spaces in the council's own car park and scrap that bike line and build a wheelchair accessible overpass. More park and rides, greater parking facilities at stations, and bus routes built on efficiency, preferably that don't follow the flawed "rolling roadblock" nonsense. With all that in place, bang in congestion charging and jobs a good un
KevP
You have to give it to the planners, County Highways, and Bristol City Council. If you want to see an example of how to royally **** up transport systems, look no further. Well done you bunch of muppets. If Bristol needed an enema, that's where they'd shove the friggin tube. redysteadygo1
By the looks of it we have roundabouts to look forward to at the intersections of the new South Bristol Link road at both Long Ashton By Pass and the A38. So twice a day at peak times there is going to be major delays. Why oh why will they not use flyovers when there is plenty of land available. OK cost is an issue but for the next few decades we will have twice daily queues of stationary traffic emitting fumes at a level now higher than the motor industry advised. Green City !!!! ChippenhamRed
I've said it before but I'll say it again - just how is it all going to work with 27k? The infrastructure just isn't there. There were a few complaints about long queues after the game at Brighton - but at least they have a clear strategy and everyone knows what they have to do to get to and from the game - and the cost is covered by your ticket. I don't see any sort of joined up thinking at all with regard to transport and the redeveloped stadium.

sodburyred
Surely some cycle and bus lanes should improve this problem? I left my house at 5.10 and was safely parked up by 7.30!!!! Jeez that was a horrific drive. Why also was the cricket club parking shut by the police dog place? That was my full back option and causede added stress by being closed. Dollymarie
45 minutes to get from Headley Park to Ashton Gate! Not helped by extra amounts it seemed of anti-social drivers trying to save themselves precious seconds by deliberately getting in the wrong lane round the Parson St one way system, and then expecting those of us in the correct lane to go round towards AG to just let them in. DENIED! Get in the right lane in the first place and the traffic would move more smoothly!
BS15_RED
It took me over an hour to get into BS3 last night, the ridiculous amount of roadworks and road closures in and around the Feeder Road is just plain ridiculous, which moron at City Hall authorises that much disruption at once on a busy route into the city? I have to drive that way a lot and sometimes, early in the morning, when trains are arriving at Temple Meads you get hundreds of people walking that way into the centre of Bristol meaning there is a constant stream of pedestrians using those zebra crossings. It has regularly taken me 20 minutes to drive 50 yards when that is the case. I've seen irate drivers just push through the non stop lines of people in their vehicles as they are absolutely fed up of the seemingly endless stream of people and cyclists. There is a zebra crossing at every exit of that roundabout....madness

The zebra crossing obviously needs to be there for commuters going from the centre back to BTM and there simply isn't space for an under or overpass. That route wasn't intended for heavy traffic but of course the reality is people (me included) use it as a rat run to avoid the traffic on Temple Way and around BTM.
