Does that flag that keeps coming in to shot say Hackney Gas? WTF!!!

Not sure who's that is. Hazel who used to write the 2nd of may fanzine for the gas is out there and lives in Hackney but is an AFC Wimbledon supporter these days. Her flag is the beard liberation front CC flag which was designed by Edson

I like Compton. Always have.

Hales is shit. Always will be in this format.

To say Hales is shit is abit harsh

Say he is not good enough to be a test opener is one thing

Shit is another

PS Apart from having a famous name How did Compton get into the side in the first place

Not for hitting loads of runs or having a good ave in county cricket

Well actually Compton got called into the squad originally for nearly hitting 1000 runs before May (rain meant he did it on the following day) and ending the season as the highest run scorer in the LVCC with nearly 1'500 runs. The following seasons he hit 1200 and 1100 odd before moving back to Middlesex. He averages just under 43 in first class cricket.

He's what England need amongst so many quicker players, some one who can hold the innings together and deal with the new ball. Once again today he saw off the initial thrust of the seamers allowing the likes of Root to play freer later on

This season he averaged under 39 This is not worth being recalled for

Good county player but nothing more

Also not near the class of Bell

How about judging Compton at the end of the series? Bell averaged 25 in 24 innings, can hardly consider himself unlucky to be dropped.

Should we pick the batsmen with the best averages? Trescothick wouldn't have started when he did.  Some players better at Test cricket than County Championship. Vaughan another
