PFree
For me, it feels like the cheap option and smacks of a lack of ambition - I just wonder how many others feel the same hence add your name if you feel strong enough...
Guest
For me, I'd rather enjoy a very good result rather than look out for the next negative topic to start.
rockinrobin
Completely agree cannot employ this bloke as manager of our football club if we want to keep progressing. Nothing less than Pearson for me or a manager with prem experience.

Bowie
Pretty Much the only name that has been dismissed by anyone at the club. Safe to say it won't be Appleton

RT's Vaseline Tub
I would rather have Pembo in charge over Appleton all day long. His cv is very poor and an accident waiting to happen if we were to appoint him. The Board would be taking a backward step after a terrific and hugely positive performance today. Stortz
i will back whoever is the next manager of Bristol CIty FC and respectfully draw peoples' attention to the negative reaction to the appointment of Cotts and what happened next
Gert Mare
Don't want to look beyond Pearson myself. If the board were scared of Cotts they'll be absolutely bleeding petrified of Pearson!

Agreed. We just beat the league leaders, and gave our survival hopes a shot in the arm; can't we stow the hysterics for one night? Plus; this is all spookily familiar to the virulently anti-Cotts threads from just over two years ago, which is worth keeping in mind.
OldlandReddies
no way will it be appleton. nothing against the bloke but we are looking for someone to take us to the next step i.e. prem and he's not the man.

ciderup
I would be underwhelmed as I want Pearson but I would back him as he would be our Manager / head coach. At least it ain't that scrawny gob5hite gas head.

Tinmans Love Child
We need somebody proven at saving clubs from relegation, winning in the championship and attracting players, Appleton is none of these things, Pearson is. Yes Appleton could prove a success but it's a big big gamble,

cheshire_red
Just ask Blackpool and Blackburn supporters what they think of Appleton and they were both in this division at the time. Lower league manager all season long.
Warwickshire Red
No thanks, he should stay at Oxford. Pearson please.
PFree
I wasn't being negative in raising this thread, Appleton is 11/10 favourite on Skybet to be appointed - I'm genuinely concerned that OUR club will make a poor appointment based on what for me feels like a cheap option, if we want to progress we need a manager who can deliver at this level, enough said... Chappers
A pathetic thread. It's SL's club and we have to trust the board to make the right appointment, and if they feel that's MA, we have to accept it and back him. Truth is that none of us really know what will happen as appointing a manager is not a science, and it's usually just the luck of the draw, getting the right person at the right time. Portred
We're Bristol City. Like it or lump it, the board are gonna pick a manager. We're still Bristol City.
chipdawg
Fans do not and never have had a direct say in appointing a coach. I don't want Appleton, but I don't support a manager, I support a football team and that won't change just because I disagree with an appointment. What will be will be
