AshtonGreat
Bruce Springsteen's Tunnel of Love is an utter classic. The follow-up to Born In The USA, it tells the story of love found and love lost, and it's absolutely poetic. Chris Rea's On The Beach is one of my favourite albums: a beautiful, mellow summer album that isn't instant but deserves repeated listens. And surprised no one mentioned The Smiths' Strangeways Here We Come.

Erithacus
Hmm, surprised no mention of Kate Bush yet. Four top albums of the 80s: Never For Ever The Dreaming Hounds of Love The Sensual World The Police were also top of the table in those days: Zenyatta Mondatta Ghost is the Machine Synchronicity And for a bit of a different flavour, how about Joe Jackson's Body And Soul of 1984 among others? Eddie Hitler
RedRobbo gave them a nod but surely their finest is Mirror Moves: Which I think I had on continuous play one summer in 86 or 87.

Coincidentally I downloaded this only yesterday and gave it a listen for the first time in ages. A cracking album.
