Best Album of the 80s

Bruce Springsteen's Tunnel of Love is an utter classic. The follow-up to Born In The USA, it tells the story of love found and love lost, and it's absolutely poetic.

Chris Rea's On The Beach is one of my favourite albums: a beautiful, mellow summer album that isn't instant but deserves repeated listens.

And surprised no one mentioned The Smiths' Strangeways Here We Come.

Hmm, surprised no mention of Kate Bush yet. Four top albums of the 80s:

Never For Ever

The Dreaming

Hounds of Love

The Sensual World

The Police were also top of the table in those days:

Zenyatta Mondatta

Ghost is the Machine

Synchronicity

And for a bit of a different flavour, how about Joe Jackson's Body And Soul of 1984 among others?
