22A
It's not April 1st is it? https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/ifab-confirm-series-changes-football-115102082.html But the powers that be at the head of world football rules, IFAB (International Football Association Board) have declared that from next season, the ball can move in any direction from kick off - meaning it doesn't have to go forward anymore. Regarding other rule alterations, referees now have the power to send players off BEFORE a match kicks off, and finally, finally, injured players are again able to receive treatment on the pitch as opposed to on the sidelines. So hopefully, that'll put an end to the silly ruling of players needing to be waved back onto the field when their team is defending. Punishments for denying a goalscoring opportunity have now been softened - or at least referees can be softer in their decisions should they wish following an accidental or non-dangerous clash - lessening the possibility of the triple jeopardy of red card, penalty and subsequent suspension. pride of the west
The injured player rule has never been followed correctly. The new rule just mirrors how the rule is followed through now.
BS2 Red
They should change the injury rule so that an "injured" player has to stay off the pitch for 10 minutes. Genuinely injured players get time to recover and time wasting ar*eholes get punished.

Roe
I've never understood the "ball must go forward from kick off" rule. What does it matter?

Wasn't the rule that it should also do one complete revolution? Which of course it never did.

BS2 Red
I was half joking. I've seen too many games recently where players fake injuries only to be running around seconds later. It makes my blood boil!
