There is just no pleasing some people wasn't about style or attacking or defensive football just staying up done in a limited situation .job done .judgement to be made after transfer window and some match's being played next season enjoy this after all could be a lot worse

I think I worked out the difference was .2 goals per game less conceded. But it was a masterstroke in as much as we are staying up, and we wouldn't have without a change.

I think the difference may be, Wade and Pembo had to stop the rot, with LJ I think he has had a look with thoughts of next year. We were pretty sure of staying up a few games ago and maybe some of the decisions he has made were looking at who would and would not make it going forward.

He's a firefighter not a long-term prospect. A small budget equals a small squad and the multiple red cards and other suspensions he encourages his players to pick up would make for a very uncomfortable 46 games for the Millers if he was appointed.

21 points in 14 league games is obviously progress compared to where we were when Johnson was appointed. That's 69 points over a season giving you a 7th or 8th placed finish. Clearly games against the likes of Hull and Derby recently have shown up our current deficiencies but wind the clock back around 16-20 games and the deficiencies were far more massive then than they are now.

To try and argue we haven't really made progress is laughable but most appreciate there is plenty more to be done.

Ignore my last post did not paste as good as it should of done thhe point was I had my doubts and the championship table shows us bottom after 9 games with just 5 points and the football was awful..... Glad we turned it around though and look forward to next year

I was referring specifically to defensively, where we were much more solid under Wade and Pembo than we are now

I personally much prefer this exciting new dawn than yet another trip to Wembley in the paint pot trophy with SC at the helm.

Agreed, but his time had come.  Let's look at this at the new adventure to come.  I'm happier where we are now rather than a few months ago and I personally am excited.  It may go t*ts up I agree but I've seen nothing but positivity the last month or so I for one am looking forwards.

I'm happy as well, and looking forward to next season. My negativity was only in response to those who were so quick to berate a man who did wonders for this football club. His time had indeed come, but he deserves much more respect than he's been getting.

For me the draw at home to Charlton was the realisation that we may well could go down and thay would be the 2 points lost that would have cost us.

Although against Brentford in August was where I realised the gap between League 1 and Championship, how teams will punish you for mistakes. 352 wasn't going to work from now on.

There wasn't a particular game where it was a low point. The whole period between Charlton and Cotterill being sacked were particularly bad times even though we managed to get a draw at West Brom.

I wish Cotterill all the best for the rest of his career but it was the correct decision.

Big thanks must go to Pemberton and Wade Elliott for being brave enough to originally change our shape and start the ball rolling for LJ to smoothly come in and finish it off.

Was worried about appointment of LJ I will confess. Had reservations but very glad I was wrong!

As for survival, always thought it was quite likely in any case. We were playing well or at least better than our results suggested.

Even under Cotts we got less than we deserved based on results v performances IMO and when this is the case the outcome tends to turn.

Big credit to Pemberton and Elliott for steadying the ship at a crucial time.

Get over it Ashton, no one disrespect's Cotts, he was having a mare to be fair and was removed.... We will always remember last season forevermore, THE END!

What? Why? What evidence was there that we could have stayed up under cotts. We were desperate and you could see the players couldn't defend using 3-5-2, cotts was not going to change that system and even if he had, would he have got any decent loans in?

We'll never know how it might have turned out, but all the signs by the last month or so of Cotts' reign were that things were getting worse, not better.

LJ has done about as well as can reasonably be expected so far. Although the table doesn't look great in terms of league position, in terms of points we're as close to 10th as we are to the drop zone.
