BBC report it's definitely a training device left as part of a drill this week

So didnt anyone at the club remember the security drill they had a few days ago?!

Cue conspiracy theories about it being "left on purpose"

Surely the person who hides the device ( devices ) would collect the unfound one... s after the security drill, as mentioned above, I think someone could be out of a job tomorrow.

Indeed. You'd also imagine that the whoever was putting these training devices around the ground would make sure they got them all back. The costs for whoever was at fault are going to be enormous. (Staffing on the day, food and drink, fans travel expenses, refunded tickets etc)..

Incredible story now, however earlier today the hundreds of Police and Stewards who went about their work thinking it was a real bomb including many who would have put their personal safety at risk is commendable.

The evacuation of that number of people, safely and without incident is a credit too.

Finally you would think that if the security forces training this week would have a basic process of counting out the fake devices and counting back in the fake devices to prevent such an incident?

At least they were able to carry out a 'proper' security drill

All joking aside - that will be of major benefit - to be able to test their plans / staff / procedures with a full house and no one hurt will be invaluable

They will know what went well / was a problem and even better prepared for any future incident

Crap long day out for the Bournemouth fans mind !!

No wonder Utd have been so shit this season if these are the sort of devices the have been using for training.  What's wrong with putting out the cones and getting the lads having a few 5 aside games?

What a coincidence!  In the context of Hillsborough very recently concentrating focus on corrupt police forces...

Something (doesn't) happens that shows how commendable our police forces are at dealing with 'suspicious devices'.

United confirmed that they will be refunding all tickets for today's game and giving season ticket holders a game credit.

Said to cost the club £3M.

Should be giving all Bournemouth supporters their travel expenses and offering to cover the replay too.

If man utd knew there was a training exercise. I would if I was the league give Bournemouth the points due to the sheer incompetency of the club. Pay each Bournemouth fan travel back as well as ticket.

Shocking that a training programme on there ground with there ok caused this much inconvenience to everyone.
