Whatever you think of LVG I think it's massively disrespectful this has come out now.. Could have given it a few days at the very least.

Apparently, well definitely the press were briefed last night and sat on it until after the game.

The (real... As in actually go to games)  Manchester United fans that I know wanted rid of Lvg for his style of play... Not because of a lack of champs league. So I find it bizarre that they would by happy with the king of 1-0 boring wins.

I guess it's entertainment as long as your winning....

Except by Bolasie, fantastic player.

I think Palace should cash in and sell him for £25m ;)

Second rate player in a third rate team.  Dear God, do Palace play like that every game?  Hoof it long to a winger and hope he does summat?

They were fortunate to only be playing ManUre who were so pedestrian.

Palace should sell Bolasie for £30m though....

Turned on the radio after 5pm hoping to find out who had won - then found out the game hadn't even started yet and was an evening kick off.  :shifty:

You can't have the FA Cup Final at any other time than the traditional 3pm start time, but then again they've made so many changes to the competition (not to mention semi-finals at the national stadium) that it seems they can't tarnish any more, what many say is "the greatest cup competition in the world"     (You can imagine Carlos Alberto spilling his pint hearing that)

Something of a poor game by all accounts, didn't watch and only got the eventual result as the winners and losers were getting medals and going up the steps.     Wanted Palace to win - if only for their chance after 26 years of waiting - but it wasn't to be and there was no shock or surprise result in this years competition.

The FA Cup Final is a largely insignificant event for me these days, I don't know about anyone else.   Too commercialised, and football often comes a poor second best.   When was the last time there was a truly memorable final or at least one that I took a genuine interest in ?.    Tottenham and Coventry in 1987 is perhaps the last example and recent years just haven't provided enough interest or belief that another year will bring anything different.

Good question. I used to love the Semi Final days as a kid when you could watch two games on BBC in one day and then FA Cup final day itself when the coverage would start around 10am and carry on till 6pm. It doesn't seem such an event nowadays or maybe it's just because I've got older ;)

The last time me and my mates used the FA Cup final as an excuse for an all dayer was probably in 2000 for Chelsea vs Villa (which was a shit match). Since then I only really remember the Liverpool vs West Ham game (which was actually ok) and the Hull/Arsenal match a couple of years ago.

Everton vs Man Utd (1995ish) is probably the last game I took a genuine interest in.

I could probably tell you every final result up from the early seventies to 1991, but after that there have been few to remember, other than the 2006 final mentioned above.

This is because the significance of the final has diminished considerably over the last 25 years as the culture of football has changed and unfortunately it is unlikely to ever return to the days where it was the most important match of the season to all football fans and players alike.

Such a shame.

Can we not just have an english manager manage the national team or am i not being very diverse???

Name one that's won anything of significance or even led a team in the Champions League recently.

I'd always prefer England to be managed by an Englishman, but we don't seem to be producing managers with pedigree.

I quite enjoyed the game overall and was glad it didn't go to penalties. Cracking winning goal as well.

The one thing I didn't like was the nonsense at the start when kick off was delayed by them putting that ridiculous sheet on the pitch just so there could be live music. If I would have been one of the fans of either team anxiously waiting for kick off it would have driven me mad.

Having been at the game yesterday, I must comment on the fantastic atmosphere created by the Crystal Palace fans.

It was awesome and continuous, and from our seated position drowned out some of the pre match entertainment (?).
