Midred
Apologies if I've missed this on OTIB but I'm sure that I heard last week that the above named person was to be "installed" in the Football Hall of Fame for his contribution to Football during the 1000 games that he has "managed"? He has undoubtedly had some success in keeping his career alive but shouldn't some form of QUALITY be involved? (A bit like (sir) Philip Green's contribution to the retail sector! Please tell me that I was dreaming and that this isn't reality?

HoldenBall
Great career, but West Brom are 9th in one of the toughest leagues in the world yet their fans still want him to go. Think that says it all realy.
Robbored
Regardless of his style of play Pulis has done a pretty good job wherever he's been in the PL. Stoke and Palace both stayed up with him at the helm. We have less favourable memories of him of course. He, Lumsden and Osman........

Red Skin
I am really, really trying to be more philosophical about Pulis these days. I hated his time at BCFC, the type of football he played and the fact he signed overpaid journeymen on long term contracts that set the club backs years. But maybe we needed to go through that experience as part of the journey to get to where we are now?

Offside
In the section of the "i" newspaper at the weekend where they quote fans, a WBA supporter was bemoaning their playing style. Pulis' time at City was a dark spell in our recent history. The sense of relief on among City fans on the away terrace at Bournemouth when he left was incredible. I never dreamed a manager like that would end up carving out a decent career in the top league, but crikey what a divisive figure.
Lanterne Rouge
I still have my suspicions to this day that his hatred of us goes so deep that he was actively trying to destroy the club from within. I know that`s the sort of bollocks we expect the sags to come out with but I cannot for the life of me come up with another explanation for some of the things that happened while he was here. JamesBCFC
The football under Wilson was the most exciting I'd ever seen when I was growing up. Bell and Tinnion on the left, Tommy Doc in midfield and Murray on the right. The three Lees (Peacock, Matthews, Miller), went into every game expecting goals. Not sure when my first game was, other than that I was very young and would cry when we conceded (a habit I have now stopped) but looking at dates of management it was between the end of Joe Jordans second spell, and Pulis' time here. Midred
It was during Danny Wilson's time that we went on a 12? game winning run. Never thought that they wouldn't score one more to win even in extra time! Sounds familiar. Dawn Sheffield Wednesday in that 13th game.

Kudos to you but don't be too philosophical when it comes to a manager that set this club back years!! Also since when since when did success have to be product of adversity. He never seemed to enjoy 1min of his time here and the feeling is entirely mutual. I'm sure David Moyes is nearing the 1000 matches managed but should he be afforded a place in the HoF for his managerial prowess. Not a ******* chance yet he was one of my boyhood heroes for his BCFC endeavours
reformed_red
I heard a feature about this on Tslksport last week....they were doing a "can you guess the other managers on the list".... Danny Wilson on there as well!! I was shocked, but he has over 1,000 Football League managerial games. Fair play, loved his time here, Hartlepool and Christian Roberts was arguably better than Palace....

That's what people usually say, and I agree, but four years of having the best squad in the third tier and he still couldn't get us promoted. Meanwhile the club developed the worst culture and discipline in living memory, as we know from the countless reports of disgraceful behaviour which followed. Tinnion couldn't do anything to quell it and it wasn't until Gary Johnston that anyone got a grip on the behaviour of the players.

Nogbad the Bad
West Brom fans regularly appear on phone - ins saying how much they dislike Pulis and his diabolically negative style of football. Many can't stand it any more and have stopped attending altogether. They state they'd far rather watch their team in the Championship attempting to play football under another manager than continue to survive in the PL with little or no prospect of entertainment under Pulis. Any club he manages probably won't go backwards, but the fans are likely to find themselves in a vice like grip of relentless tedium and frustration. The Hawthorns has a 27,000 capacity, West Brom are averaging about 23,000.
