Too early to judge LJ but hopeful he will achieve promotion to the top flight like Dicks. I'd forgotten how young Dicks was when he joined us - even younger than LJ. Took him nearly 9 years to get there; hopefully LJ will do it more quickly!

At my age I bl...y hope so!

Based on win percentages the only City manager with a better win percentage than LJ is Sam Hollis, City's first ever manager. LJ's record is 51.61% against Hollis 51.88%. Here's the figures:

Given that all LJ's games have been in the Championship whereas in the past we may have been in the lower leagues makes the figures even better. To be fair to Alan Dicks his figures (33.6%) would have been better if we hadn't been in the top league for four of his seasons in charge so you could argue he was still the best manager we've ever had, especially when taking into account his 611 games in charge which is far more than anybody else.

A good start, nothing more, nothing less.....'go on back to your homes'............

It's definitely too early to judge LJ. Anyone can look good with the likes of Tammy Abraham in the side. Judge LJ when TA goes back to Chelsea.

What an odd opinion, should we not judge Guardiola because he's had Messi at Barca? Regardless how good he's turned out to be, you can never tell with an 18 year old in men's football. It was a risk, it's not like we signed Ibrahimovic who you expect to be of a world class standard.

Good start, but achieved nothing yet. So not even in contention IMO.

Without Abraham's goals opinions might not be so glowing.

Hopefully he will go one better than his dad, then he would rightfully earn the deserved accolades.

Agree 100%.

LJ knew before the start of season that Tammy would be coming on a season long loan so the need to sign a striker was not the high priority it might have been.

Had the Abrahams deal not gone through then no doubt MA and LJ would have been looking to recruit added firepower but obviously we'll never know what would have happened if a different striker had been signed.

If the Abrahams deal hadn't gone through we would have kept Kodjia

Exactly. You can't argue about win percentage stats; 100% of the time!

And by the way, our most successful manager based on achievements (not win percentages) is Harry Thickitt.

Under Harry's tenure City were Division 2 Champions 1905-06, Division 1 Runners-Up 1906-07, FA Cup Finalists 1908-09 and when topping the second tier won 14 consecutive League matches, a record that stands to this day and is jointly held with Manchester United 1904-05 and Preston North End 1950-51.

Dicksy took us up to Div 1 and kept us there for 4 years and put together the best team we have had in 100 years.  Most of this was with local grown talent too (albeit some originating from Scotland).e.g.

Ray Cashley, Geoff Merrick, Gary Collier, Trevor Tainton, Clive Whitehead, Gerry Gow, Tom Ritchie, All came through the youth setup.  Paul Cheesely is a Bristol lad albeit bought from Norwich, then there were shrewd buys from Scotland like Don Gillies (why the hell do they keep calling him Donnie?) and Gerry Sweeney along with Tony Fitzpatrick.  Those are the names that immediately come to mind.

For me it's too soon to judge LJ but he's certainly got off to a pretty good start and activity in the transfer market has been pretty good too.  Judge him after a full season.

Even though I loved Alan Dicks' achievements and the squad he had, Harry Thickett's teams achieved far more for BCFC - Div 2 champions, runners up in top div, FA Cup Finalists etc - and only 70 odd years before Alan Dicks...
