steveybadger
Stand to be corrected but from my o level German i'd say Hegeler would be Heg-e-lair.

BRISTOL86
I'd guess Juh-rich or Due-rich for our Bosnian chap and Hey-guh-ler for the German!

Yes actually that sounds right - was trying to rack my brains for similarly spelt words, and gegen (against) is gay-gen. like being back at school..... Calculus
Sorry, but is this now a debate amongst a number of Bristolians about how things should be pronounced? I had no ideal that this sort of thing happened in this areal....
East Yorkshire CideRed
I'd say "Hey-geh-ler" is pretty spot on, with more emphasis on the 1st syllable. The beauty of German is (and many would argue, as a language it doesn't have much beauty!), pretty much everything is pronounced as it's written.
