Dave L
It doesn't seem like that long ago that a disgruntled player who wasn't happy with his lot would march into the Manager's office and demand a transfer, irrespective of the time left on his contract. I'm struggling to think of the last time a player publicly asked to leave City. You can't count Liam Rosenior as his contract was up, and he was a free agent. So, why don't players want to leave? Is it because there's a happy team spirit at City, and all our squad are happy here? Is it because they know nobody else would have them? And who was the last City player to ask for a transfer, as opposed to being placed on the list by the club?
wesco
With the finacial problems in football no one is going to do that anymore knowing that they will struggle to get more money else wheer unless they are special
Port Said Red
Under the current system I would do what the players seem to do now, put up with whatever #### they see thrown at them and wait for my "bosman time" to come through. There's money in them there golden hellos!
Private Cider(cider army)
I think the last player to ask for a transfer could possibly have been Andy "judas" Jordan, who got Cardiff to activate a ####py minimum relaese clause. Other thoughts were Andy Cole or Ade Akinbye ?? May be i am completely wrong on all of the above............
elhombrecito
I think it's simply the current financial climate at the moment. Any player that walks out a club is likely to find themselves unemployed. Simple as.
cheshire_red
Topically funnily enough a Mr Phillip Barnes a certain Keeper of the Tangerine goal slapped in a transfer request just yesterday. According to their Rivals forum thier other keeper is well dodgy, pity we will be sitting alonside the pitch instead of behind the goal otherwise Bish Red (or B'muff) and Edson and others keep have done their dodgy keeper routine ala Abbey at Northampton last season. Read all about it on the Blackpool Rivals site (link from our own).
RedTop
Scott Murray, surely. SteveL said he wouldn't sell Scott to Reading unless he specifically requested a transfer. He only did so when Scott duly went in to see him and did precisely that.

He only did so when Scott duly went in to see him and did precisely that. But does that really count? Murray only(as far as we know) asked to leave after Reading expressed interest in him. We assume he didn't knock on Wilson door asking to be listed before then.
RedTop
Well Scotty requested a transfer! Surely that's a transfer request.
England
there is a very long out of work footballers queue out there so players are happy to take their wedge and do nothing rather than demand a transfer
Taz
What about Tony Thorpe? I know his contract was up at the end of the season, and that he didn't think we could match his demands. Was he then put on the list, and would it have counted towards a transfer request?
