Sorry TLC, I did quantify my post earlier in this thread which covers this.
BS10 RED
Always been a firm believer of that if your in form and fit then you should be in the squad. Regardless of age or team you play for.
ontariored
Defoe really looks after himself. No beer or spirits, only the healthiest of food. I was lucky to see him play in Toronto, but he left as he had little competition. Point that it raises though, is the England team and Championship clubs able to develop young talent into proven goalscores. Two years from now, what eill the England team look like? Maybe England will be able to develop in to a team that doesn't play with a striker at times (as an option). Successful teams have done it before and with the attacking midfielders we have in the squad it could be an option. Soz if that sounded a bit like LJ then! Lets pull out all the stops and see if Shearer fancies another go! Miroslav Klose played for Germany until he was 36. Didn't do a bad job! Get the point though. norwichrobin
To be fair he was only dropped by woy for speaking up when the young players asked him to over the monkey incident, not a lack of form
petehinton
To be fair I was extremely underwhelmed when Southgate was appointed - probably like most - but this is the first squad in a while where I've actually liked the look of it. Players picked on merit rather than the club they play for.

Not that I suspect you are, but i wouldn't write Kane off after one disastrous tournament, he's the best English striker we've got

steviestevieneville
Fair play to southgate , he's not shied away from making changes. Says he doesn't want players to feel comfortable in the squad , so no certainties. Trying different players , bringing young uns in he coached at u21's . About Time someone shook things up.
