Looks like I for one will be eating an awfull lot of humble pie for a while.

Had great delight in telling my Rovers and Swindle mates he was a clueless pillock 6 weeks ago.

Now I'm starting to feel a tad embarrassed tbh.

but 6 weeks ago he was a clueless pillock, how were you to know he was suddenly going to do what we  all could see he should have been doing.

current form over 10 games places City third, if you wanted to poach a manager who looks like a great option for next season a manager like Lee Johnson would probably be beyond the reach of City , so just consider it a coup to keep him.

The great upturn in form exacty co-incided with the appointment of Jamie McAllister as assistant coach and to a lesser extent Matt Taylor, both who came in.  I cannot say the addition of a player would have made much difference so I'm going with the complete change of tactics is down to the change in coaching staff.

I'm no fan of Lee Johnson as a coach or a manager but If this balance works then I'm all for it.

The upturn actually started with the additions following the January window, we were short of forward players before then with the loss of Kodjia so late in the summer window although we had a lean patch when Tammy was injured in February

Out of those signed , only BW has been a consistent pick albeit DC & MT have played cameo roles

I would say Matt Taylor has had more than a cameo role. Also Djuric has changed games when coming on (eg the Rotherham match) but apart from the individual performances of the new players there has been more competition for places so the performance levels of the players we already had improved (eg Frankie, Paterson, Brownhill, O'Dowda).

Taylor has definitely played a significant part - when I say cameo it was a bad use of word - meant in terms of number of starts he made - took a while to get a chance

Believe that many of us have heard about the J McA effect. I've certainly heard, reliable source, that he was at the centre of sorting it out: dressing room disharmony in particular. Maybe he also helped set the wonderful "new" plan, simply good old 442, in place? Maybe again, helped his boss choose the right pegs for those holes?
