Course there is. To disillusion England

All part of cricket.  England want them to declare so why would they do something that England want them too?

Of course but England already knew  that they’ll struggle to avoid defeat. India already had a massive lead and had they declared they could have had a go at England earlier rather than wait until bowled out.

In the fourth innings England will lucky to get 200.

5 dropped catches, must do better. So, based on India's 2 innings, this is roughly a 300 run pitch, England badly underperformed in 1st innings, but Ashwin has shown what is possible.  Can England bat for the remainder of the test and salvage a draw?  Some of the batsmen need to come to the fore now and front up.

Absolutely no chance whatsoever.

No team would salvage a draw from here

Well I'm glad you're not in the dressing room giving any words of encouragement...

Yeh there is no chance for England which is exactly why India carried on. Give their players batting time, to get 100 for Ashwin and annoy England even more. Bookies odds always amaze me on these kinds of matches - England 14-1?! Could play this game 1,000 times and England wouldn't win.

If England make more than 150-200 that would be a reasonable effort I think in a 4th innings on this pitch. Players like Burns, Lawrence etc need to contribute something.

They’re not good enough at playing spin.

Realism BR. England fans know this game is lost and so do the players.

It is but that’s not to say that what happens in the rest of this test isn’t important. Chance for the batsman to get some belief.  30-40 runs on this pitch against this attack is a good return and would build confidence

Definitely. A 'win' from here would be 200+ I think and is possible.

We knew that already.  It’s still important what happens

It’s important that the our batsman get as much time facing spin - oh! Burns has now gone.........:dunno:

Leach in as nightwatchman - at least he can block

Oh dear he’s gone as well..........:cool2:

Root was lucky there. Something wrong it thats not being given out

Originally they appealed for caught behind - umpire gave not out and then LBW was hitting part of the stumps but umpires call - very strange that they should review LBW when the appeal was for caught behind.
