For those sad enough (like me) to obsess about Season Cards being sent out....mine arrived today and I actually felt a bit of excitement. Or was it dread.

I sort of just wish they'd post the season ticket as well as telling me what I am entitled to and leave out the lines about pretending we had a great season/are on the up etc

bcfc.jpg

  • Progress is evident

....finished 17th but would've been lower had we not pulled our finger out at the end of the season

  • A roller coaster unlike any other season I can remember

....Losing 5-0 to Preston was quite the roller coaster

  • Highest average attendances since the 70's is proof you share out belief in what we are trying to build

....We have a bigger stadium and can fit more people into it, not really looking into what's being built more just filling the seats as well as more neutrals watching the Villa/Newcastle games etc

Got mine today too, actually posted a topic about 5 minutes after you!

Hoping we get a few more signings in then i'll be a bit more optimisc

So? Newcastle wouldn't have won the league if they hadn't won so many games.. but they did.

Also not sure why this is in the transfer forum.

You're not sad, you speak for many of us...well me anyway! Hoping to find one later when back from work.

The club did say they would 'start' to be sent out this week, so the fact that this is the first thread on this implies that most will get theirs next week.

Mine too. Better start the pre-season training now.....

Have literally just opened my envelope to find a shiny new season ticket. Remember the days when the post came in the morning! Picking my son up from school in a bit, going to make him a very happy chappy! COYR

Got mine about an hour ago. The lad didn't get his.

Hopefully his will arrive tomorrow otherwise I'm in for a miserable first weekend of the school holiday.

What do you expect? A statement like "We were crap last season but hope  intend to do better this coming year".

And while you aren't into the other commercial offers, there are enough who will. Why should the club not try to sell itself and get a few more pennies in to boost the transfer fund.

Don't know about that, but looks like he drew a snake instead of doing a signature.

This !

I was expecting to use last years card, re-loaded. Not complaining mind, last one was looking a tad rough around the edges.

Mark Ashton sounds American "chief" surely it should be Head Operating Officer

It's the return of MA Bingo!!!!

I've got 'togetherness', 'progress' and 'unity'. So I just need DNA for a line...

Or the sale of 13000 more season tickets for a full house.

It's sad really, isn't it?

I'm no longer sure what the balance is between us becoming more bitter and cynical and the authorities becoming increasingly shameless and slimy ****'s.

I suspect, however, that it is directly proportional.

Note to Mark Ashton - its "fewer goals conceded" not "less goals conceded"  - and the club has put this man in charge!!!!!!!

I think Ashton did it on purpose, like Tomlin with that penalty. Clearly disunity in the background, he wants to leave/get Johnson out etc etc

I've got no great beef about the letter per se for my ST - but having identical letters for a 10YO and a 5YO seems a bit silly... seeing as we have provided proof of age, surely they could have given them a letter more suited to a junior fan?

We also beat Huddersfield 4-0. So yes, it was.

and Brighton away.......

I wonder whether some people choose to take "rollercoaster of a season" as a positive statement, just because they like rollercoasters?

Posted

What do you expect the club to say? You have willingly bought a ST despite the debacle you thought was last season, for me I would worry more about the awful pink club logo, that must have been designed by the same person who did the training top.

You pays yer money....

Outside of the usual doom and gloom, I can see things from Mark Ashton's perspective. The club took a risk by building a young and inexperienced squad on the assumption that the players had the quality, and the coach was able to get that quality out of them. In theory, the experience from last season should help them push on for this season.

The problem with this approach is that it overly simplifies the coaching process, and makes it impersonal, something Lee Johnson has been accused of in the past through rumours. Teams need a balance of youth and experience, and that experience needs to be good enough to guide the youngsters towards achieving their potential, both in attitude and in ability. Tammy was a great example of this in how he attributed Wilbrahim in aiding his development here.

As much as I'd like to see our young players do well, if you spend several years fighting relegation you're not going to improve as a player. If you're a young player learning from an older player that has spent his time fighting relegation, I doubt they'll be able to pass on any wisdom to help you improve.

Mine still hasn't turned up..............Seriously considering grabbing my pitch fork and marching down to AG now, the poor postwoman thinks I'm a stalker!!!!

Mine still hasn't arrived either, but then I'm only a Season Ticket Plus.

I think you need to be Season Ticket Plus Stamp to receive it promptly.

You think LJ's kidnapped your kids?

I know he's not popular but this is a very serious allegation.

Glad to hear it's not just me who hasn't received their ticket yet. When I last phoned they said they were all posted last week so I'll be phoning again if not received by Friday, slow as the postal system is it doesn't take a week for something to arrive. I paid for my ticket months ago (March/April), why do they have to leave it until the last few days to get them out?

Posted

My kids received their new cards in the post the other day but mine still hasn't arrived... has this happened to anyone else? Or do I continue to use my old one? If so why did they get new and not me?

Please enlighten me!

Mine hasn't arrived either but IIke you I'm not sure if I can use last seasons card.

I can't remember what happened with SCs this time last year.

Would this be a question MKelly could answer?

Depends are your circumstances. On the email conformation of my renewal it says the following...

Q. When will I receive my Season Card?

A. Current season cards will be reloaded if you have not moved seat or changed your price type.
If you move seats or change price types then you will be posted a new Season Card prior to the 2017/18 season.

So I'm not expecting to receive a new card, but will be taking a copy of the email just in case!!

I was under the impression that I would not receive a new card as I just renewed my seat from last season - I too received a new card the other day

As already stated in another thread I had the same impression, same seat, same category and plus, but received a new card with the same issue number 2. "Mr" removed from my name line and additional turnstile numbers added to the original ones to enter the stadium by. Reference number in the bottom left corner now gone up to a 6 digit one instead of the original 5 digit one.

Think I might try my old one on the first home game and see what happens.

Posted

I was told people who's tickets were the same as last season wouldn't get new ones unless it had changed due to age etc (eg I get a concession now so I got a new one but my wife hasn't). All the tickets were posted last week so should have arrived by now.

Seems like mixed responses so far! I did exactly the same but have yet to receive a new card.

This might be something that one of our Fans Liason Officers (do we still have two?) should be able to clarify in a jiffy...............

I'm the same seat and have received a new card. Guess it's as i didn't "renew", but purchased after they were put on general sale, thus also enabling removal of my PLUS benefits  :(

Are you a Swede?

So are we clear yet if people who just renewed, should expect a new season card? I thought it was standard now to get a new card and fixtures card?

With that said, I bought Brum & Brentford tickets 3 days ago and have already received them from City, but still no season card. If they're getting the players to hand deliver again, they better start thumbing a lift by the M32 / M4 junction.
