We have moved from the Atyeo. To the south stand. I'm really looking forward to the noise being created Saturday . The SS was loud at times last season. Hopefully with more singers in there the atmosphere will be better. Looking forward to it

Should be better now , I might bring my Sainsbury's carrier bag to wave in the air ! As they started this. :)

Tesco, Ikea, Sainsbury's. They've all done their bit!, or as others might put it.... "every little helps!"

I take it we can stand in the new "singing section" also can someone confirm its unreserved... Just want to double check incase someone tries to move me on if i'm sat in their season ticket seat.

Yes that's fine. Club won't come out and publicly say we can stand for obvious reasons. But there will be a relaxed attitude to it.

Thought that would be the case, like the Williams arrangement.

I have a feeling the section the Atyeo have moved to will be ridiculously busy on Saturday. Lots now know you can buy a ticket anywhere in the ground & get around to it unlike before in the Atyeo.

Unless the club have plans in place to stop this, can see it being the busiest part of the ground.

I think this may be the case too, need stewards checking tickets on the stairs at least, but this is what they did in the Williams so I would assume the same procedure will be followed.

It's sold out. Without a ticket in that area, not many will be allowed up there.

Just hope the naughty C word isn't used too often.

Agree.  I don't have any particular objections to the use of the c word, but I do feel it should only be used for special occasions.  The 'Sunday Best' of swear words, if you like.

And I get that, but like the Williams, people used to just walk across to it and the stairwells were absolutely rammed every match.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes.

I didn't say that, so not sure why it's come up as my quote. I think as long as it's not aimed at fellow supporters in other parts of the ground, then it's fine.

It's an apt collective term of endearment for Warnock, Holloway and all things Rovers.

You can't walk from block to block in the new stands. You can only enter via the "exit" to each block, where I guess they'll be doing ticket checks.

Unless somethings changed,  you could walk the whole way across through the seats, which is what people had to do in the Williams because the bottom of the stairwells were stewarded. Like I said, it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

I think you can.... No barriers or anything stopping you from walking from S20 (where I was last year) to S26. Unless it has been changed.

You cant walk from the Dolman side into the SS as it isnt connected (dividing wall)

@Tomarse Bit of a bug there. I was quoting Redlionlad by highlighting specific text and it's been mistakenly attributed to @Bar BS3.  Sorry, mate.

Agree. Aimed at our fans it's divisive but as we all sit together now, let's hope it won't happen.  Don't really like it in a chant at away fans either tbh.  For me if tiu you going to use it it should be delivered in person face to face.  It demands that kind of reverence.

Oh ok, you can't in the Dolman, where I sit.

If you enter via the wrong "exit" for your block, you have to go back to the concourse and back up through the right one for your block.

Maybe that's different in the SS.

I must admit we could do with a cattle prod  up our arses in the south stand ,sometimes it's great but a little youthful enthusiasm certainly will help.

I don't mean this as a dig, I think it will be great to have the S82 lot in amongst the rest of the support and hope it will add to the noise and spread around the rest of the ground, however, I hope they (some, not all) respect the fact that they are joining other fans, lose some of their divisive, "we do what we want" attitude and really help make the atmosphere flourish, including all other areas of the crowd, rather than act like knuckle dragging drunks who think that it's still the 1970's/80's.

Like say, "some, certainly not all" I hope it works really well. It could & should!

Please explain what you mean when you say 'divisive' with reference to songs/attitude. Not having a go, just genuinely interested to know what you mean (examples if you have it) so I can pass on your comments.

We all know about past examples. I don't want to harp on about those.

It's a genuine plea to embrace the move and make it a real positive, in ramping up the noise & support, rather than anything negative i.e.: trouble, abusive behaviour or creating a "them & us" divide amongst the home support.

Have to say we are all city fans. And I have been stood for many seasons and seen hardly any trouble. Probably more in other parts of the ground. As for the c incident. It was the minority . And rightly condemned. Me and my son can't wait for Saturday. And we can all get Ashton gate rocking. Should be good .

One can enter and leave via any vomitory. As of the end of last season, my ticket was never checked when entering the seating areas from the concourse. It is almost impossible, IMO, to "police" where people sit so it's up to everyone to be responsible and use only the block and seat shown on their ticket.

I clearly don't visit the forum enough as am not aware of the examples you speak of. If you could provide a few so I can have a word with the S82 boys let me know, sure they'll be happy to accomodate.

FYI everyone I've spoke to is very keen on the new move and don't get all the negativity. There hasn't been 'proper' trouble in the Atyeo for years. From last season all I can remember is 2 Dutch lads getting chucked out. Can't see there being any issues aside from what existing people in the South Stand choose to make.

I think they were pretty much dealt with at the time, so I won't regurgitate past issues.

I hope it's a great move that people make the most of.

Don't get above yourself! We sit in the cheap, posh seats!

Fish paste sandwiches at best for us. If you want Prawn sandwiches, they are for the middle Lansdown blocks!

It will be interesting to see what the upper Lansdown atmosphere is like being the family area now.

To me it seems like children join in with just about every chant and are more willing to be loud, could make for good atmosphere up top!!

Why not? He's our manager. The owner, board and players back him. It's a new season. It gets the crowd going. It's unique. Everyone can join in. Why not?

You lot have short memories, also he's a coach not manager.

It's beyond parody that people keep saying this - when will they realise, whatever you thought of him as a player is irrelevant!

I genuinely think some people's opinions on Johnson the manager are shaped by their opinions on Johnson the player even if that defies all logical thought or basic reasoning.

I think you'd be better off staying away, you bitter little shite.

We are still in the Championship, new season, good ticket sales, new record signing.... why not see how the season goes, with an open mind and judge based on what happens..?

You talk like we have a divine right to win every game, when the truth is we are a small fish in Championship pond.

We need supporters to support, not carry bitter, twisted, negative agendas against those who are clearly working damn hard to help us improve!

Can you definitely stand where you want in the singing section? I know the club says it's an unreserved area, but why have they printed the block, row and seat number on the card if that's the case?

I'm not in that area but I guess it's just for keeping the system standardised in the system knowing the seats sold and allocated rather than having a segregated block.

Firstly I've been a City Supporter for 40+ yrs so don't call me a bitter little site ,secondly I'm entitled to my opinion like everyone else.thirdly I don't entend staying away as you put it, I go there to support the team not JOHNSON. and my money is just as good as yours..

E34 looks to be half empty for tomorrow but E33 just has single seats available dotted around - usually a good atmosphere in that block,

SS full other than the usual S24 cock up where they release most tickets for this block too late so that is half empty and looks like a segregated area - but should be a good atmosphere regardless.

Tickets sales similar to first game last season - around 17.5k - 18k maybe ?

We've always created a decent amount of noise from this end of the stand, the away fans will certainly know we are there

Some sing "Forza Eastenders", some sing "Forza section 82" - it's "Forza Eastenders" for me - we're back where we belong - in the East end of the South stand.
