Mr Yoda Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 What d'ya think... Not sure if I'd prefer a decent Premier team or the stinkies.Β
Wanderingred Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 No. I don't want Rovers and neither should anyone else.Β We are bigger and better than them, and we don't need to beat them to prove it. All it would be is a huge distraction and a horrible banana skin for us. Let's finally get that big draw that we want every year but never get.

Nibor Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 No thanks, don't need the injuries we'd undoubtedly pick up smashing those non league dog fiddling cloggers.
Vincent Vega Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Nope . Hope we never play them again. They go bust and Β Sainsburys buy the Mem from the creditors to be honest.
Super Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Will they be singing we're getting our ground again?
cityexile Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Is this when the 'big' premier sides come in? Would rather have a big name at AG to be honest. Everything would become all consumed by a Derby in truth.

Robbored Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 The Gas at AG would be a great draw. May even attract Sky........and it would nice for the gasheads to see a proper stadium......
Offside Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 No thanks. I'd rather a game that allows me to go toΒ a ground I'veΒ never visited to see City. Maybe Goodison Park before Everton leave.
Sparkz 76 Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 No thanks to the gas the embarrassment would be to much to bear if we lost. AnyΒ of the big Β prem 6 will do meΒ

Lrrr Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Not fussed about getting Rovers, I'd rather see us get someone like Spurs at home.Β
handsofclay Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 A match against Rovers would be the tie of the round and sell out AG if we are at home. It would give us a great opportunity to progress. Far better than a match against one of the top six reserves teams. It would be a tie that would be talked about for years. Surely it is what football is ultimately about. It would be a humdinger of a match. Bring it on.
Full nelson Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 What's with the obsession with this team? F&ck um

Rich Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 No way. It would be like playing Millwall again. A cup final and big game for them, which we should win but, pressure, a changed team, on TV, blood and guts, dodgy ref, one sided match and a flooky goal, we've seen it happen before. NO, I never want to play them again ever. Even if we won comfortably, the local press would glorify their efforts. Feckum.
CotswoldRed Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Not too bothered. Would be something of a novelty, although we'd have more to lose than them.Β We don't need to beat them to prove what we already know.Β
TV Tom Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 No way, the media will be all over plucky little Rovers and it's a no win situation for usΒ
TBW Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Manchester United away or a nice simple home game. I quite like hoe long it's been since we had a proper game against Rovers. Just shows how long we've been a level or two ahead.
Spike Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 I'd love a big game against a top Prem team but beating the gas at their own stadium wouldn't be turned down either haha

richwwtk Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Not overly fussed, but all the talk about the game being huge, on TV etc is way off the mark. It would only be a big game if you're in Bristol, and wouldn't be picked as a TV match - they will need one of the big premier league teams from this point on.
Unan Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Playing Rovers is a lose lose, if we win then we'll hear "yeah and of course you should win with all the money you've spent" and if we lose then we'll never hear the end of it.

Agree outside of Bristol there is little to no interest in the 'Bristol derby ' which is a sad indication of how football in our city is viewed.Β Rovers wouldn't sell out the Ayeto, there would be comments of how they don't feel safe etc, etc. would love to see the gate full for a top six premiership team, that's where the club would get the exposure and make moneyΒ
