Fans Zone - Villa perspective

Taken from a Villa website

"First off, what a great set up - why the hell don't the Villa do it on the car parks. Beer kiosks / food outlets , tents, even a stage where a woman was singing Don't Look Back in Anger - the crowd was friendly, the stewards were friendly, the police were friendly, even the Villa fans were friendly !!! - all in all, a bloody great night".

The club are rightly criticised when things go wrong but now and again they seem to get things right

The fans zone at AG is an innovative and great idea. Congrats to whoever came up with it.

Good to see positive comments from away fans.

Did they mention anything about the PA system though?

Wasn't it only meant to be a temp measure for Wigan last season due to facilities inside of the LS being unfinished. Either way we stumbled across a very good idea.  Could do with a few more outlets but it seems well loved. Guess early season/weather helps

I wouldn't know Tom, not being "in the loop" any longer but however it came about its turned out to be a great success.

When the bad weather comes about, I guess some tents could be erected - or football stands as they're called by supporters of some clubs.

Arrogant bunch.

"should be beating the likes of Bristol ******* City" etc etc - usual stuff from so called "big club" supporters.

One said (and it is typical);

"we have a talented squad which ought to be able to come to Bristol C and walk away with the points. Lee Johnson is great at getting committed effective performances out of a squad much more limited than ours, but the fact is it is much more limited."

They may well have some individuals who are better than our players, but they also have a lot that are just "names" and either past it or stealing a living. And they are stupidly paying them a fortune whilst getting rid of players like Baker

FWIW I think they'll be in the mix at the end of the season - but I hope they don't go up until they learn a bit of respect and humility.

There were also posts saying that they had enough old players to fill an old people's home… I thought they were quite honest about their situation and sounded very much like OTIB bemoaning a bad start to the season

no! Been trying it since Prem days and it's still not working - I don't think they rate JT very highly either!

They all seemed to want Albert to come on too. It wouldn`t have done them any good though - as we all know, he still loves us too much to score against us!

I must confess I thought it would die a bit on cold, wet Tuesdays last season but it didn`t seem to.

I think there was only one time that it rained so much you had to go inside, it seemed to be dry all the way through the winter. Mulled wine at Christmas…yum

It's only like us in L1, Swindon in L2, and Rovers in the Conference

Xvideo is better!

Agreed, xhamster just isnt as user friendly as xvideos, and is probably bigger than pornhub nowadays. Its very well designed, a lot of people comment about the subtlety of the website's design.

To be fair to them we say it when we go to places like Rochdale, Southend and Rovers.

With the resources they have they should be able to do better than they did, i think what they are saying is how have we spent £x more than Bristol City only to be about as good as them.

Always somebody that moans about a positive and this time it is me but only a small moan !!

I like the fans village BUT when you just want to get in the ground to meet mates inside for a beer it is firking frustrating trying to get passed.

With the ticket office, strange programme selling position and some meat heads just inconsiderate of others who want to keep going forward trying to get through the winterstoke main entrance can take ages.

A bit of thought needed on pathway through is needed surely ??

Must be a nightmare for older folk or less mobile people.

Surely not including Samba in the better players category, he was awful!

Had to laugh when the Villa fan said the police were friendly, coming from the West Midlands he would think the German Gestapo were quite a friendly bunch and I'm guessing the baton twirling RoboCop wasn't on duty on Friday night or his views on our police may have been slightly different.

Easier to enter from the other end of the LS. Do agreee they need a bit of a walkway kept clear

I think we should all accept that the fan zone is excellent and an additional 30 to 60 seconds to get in the ground maybe frustrating but it is well worth it.

Since you can enter the ground from any turnstile it shouldn`t be a problem. Just go in and walk round inside.

Certainly not stolen from West Brom - this kind of thing was at OUR ground long ago for Bristol Rugby.

Many grounds around the country have it now - Did I read that we have one for away supporters as well as the home stage?

Still missing the toilets though !!
