Dolman Block B Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 If we beat Burton on Friday 13th surely the Leeds game on the 21st will see the biggest crowd at Ashton Gate since the finished refurbishment. Both clubs will be top 4/5 and this game will be buzzing. Understand that Leeds have already sold their allocation of 3900, and no doubt those local South West Leeds fans will be chasing tickets in home areas. Would absolutley love it if we could get 27,000, lets be honest we should the way the lads are playing. Thoughts?
gordie Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Would love it too but can see it being more like 23-24000
Buster Footman's T shirt Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 As long as they avoid the Dolman....
wendyredredrobin Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Love to see the ground full, or as full as possible, but a full away end adds to the atmosphere very much as well. With three or four thousand seats expected to be empty, I think it might be worth a little promotion to get these filled. What would it take to fill the ground?
BCFC1512 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Not sure how Leeds have already sold allocation.... not on sale until Tuesday......
Meh Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 On this current showing it is a real chance of 3 points too. Exciting attacking play but their defending is as bad as ours was last season!!
City fan 1982 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 No doubt our 27 k stadium will only use 25 k. With the rest for segregation !
Lew-T Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 They looked so poor today. I feel a little more confident on that showing...

Topper 123 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Think Leeds will sell all their allocation and I don't see why it shouldn't be 27 k sell out no need for segregation as away fans have all of end ,easy to police keep them in after game with external gates locked , clear home fans and take away fans from ground easy ! Topper 123 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 I don't see why on small anticipated gates i.e. Burton poss 18k the club don't poach fans for future give tickets to all schools in a catchment area i.e. Every school gets 100 free tickets ( just a figure) and fill the upper section of new stand this helps players with generated atmosphere and possibly brings in repeat support for future fixtures - once you get the bug . Even if kids don't attend nothing lost , they might attend with parents so a win win sinareo

I can't see why they aren't doing this. From a monetary perspective it makes perfect sense.

1960maaan Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Not going to be 27k whatever happens. Segregation sees to that. As for promotions can't see them doing it for a game that will sell well anyway. If we beat Burton and continue the good form, and Leeds fill their allocation (which I'm sure they will) then I think it will be 25+ , but we won't get 27k unless we get a good cuptie where they feel comfortable giving the whole Atyeo away, a game like a Liverpool then we might.

beaverface Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 According to here: http://stadiumdb.com/competitions/stadium_of_the_year_2016 we've got 27699 seats. Surely 699 seats segregation should allow us a borderline 27000 attendance?
Homer Simpson Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Below is copied from the os. I assume they know how many seats we have. THURSDAY, MAY 4TH 2017 The attendance for City’s Sky Bet Championship final day clash with Birmingham City will be the largest league crowd at Ashton Gate in 37 years. Not since the Division One days of 1979/80 has a league fixture in BS3 attracted so many supporters to City’s home. At present the crowd for Sunday’s season finale has eclipsed the 25,000-mark. That leaves just under 300 tickets left available before the club put up the sold out signs. The fully-redeveloped Ashton Gate has a seated capacity of just over 26,459, but a number of safety restrictions have been placed on Sunday’s fixture. If sales continue at their current rate, a capacity crowd of 25,292 is anticipated. Of that crowd, a massive 15% is under the age of 12, a demonstration of the club's continued focus towards growing its next generation through Forever Bristol City memberships. The only other two matches to eclipse the 25,000 figure since 1980 have been in the League Cup and play-offs. They are: - February 1989, 28,084 in League Cup semi-final L2 v Nottingham Forest - May 1988, 25,128 in Play-off final L1 v Walsall City’s highest league crowd before that came against Liverpool in March 1980, when 27,523 packed into Ashton Gate to watch the then two-time European Cup winners take on Alan Dicks’ side. This is also the highest ever attendance at Ashton Gate as an all-seater stadium. There is no guarantee that tickets will be available on the day of the game, so to secure your seat for Sunday’s match, call 0117 963 0600 or book online. Meanwhile, season cards for 2017/18 will go back on sale from 10am on May 15th until May 31st. Full details and pricing will be announced tomorrow.
