Early specialising in young kids is not only killing childhoods, but potential.

Specialising too early is detrimental to physical development. There are so many skills and movements that can be learned through playing other sports.

Its often uneducated parents pushing their kids to focus on Football, Rugby etc, not realising they're causing more harm then good and actually lowering the chances of their kid going far.

Recorded @BobBobSuperBob- thanks for bringing to my attention over Xmas.

i’m still Reading the book @redcherryberry - actually found it a fragmented read, hence it’s taken so long.  Just got past the Taylor Moore bit.

Gonna sit down one night when Mrs Fevs is out and watch it in peace.

Do you/anybody have any footy related books that you'd recommend reading?

Half tempted to punt for Michael McIndoe's new one, but feel compelled not at the same time.

Ben Smith - Journeyman

Simon Jordan - don’t like the bloke, but he’s grown on me since reading his book.  Good insight into being a Chairman and relationship with Manager

Garry Nelson - Left Foot Forward And Left Foot In The Grave - the first of the diary books.  Bit old now, but really good read.  Features a season at Charlton, then at Torquay.

Anything by David Conn if you’re interested in football finance and corruption / injustice.

Moneyball - the book that spawned the film.  It’s baseball, but you’ll see how the Brentford model arose.

Cheers Dave, I've just ordered the Ben Smith book. Will have a gander at the others too.

Tim Parks - A season with Verona. He goes to every game, home and away for a full league season. mostly with their ultras, and it`s a bit of an eye opener to say the least! 36 hour coach trips to Bari and places like that.

Charlie Connelly - Stamping Grounds. He follows Liechtenstein through a full World Cup qualifying campaign.

Two of the best `supporter` books I`ve read, both are very funny.

Fixed it for you - guessing that’s when the bridge is closed!

I've read that Verona book, it's a good read for sure! Will have to take a look at the Liechtenstein one also..

Recorded this programme, not seen it yet- looking forward to it.
