Why is the coaching so poor re free kicks, corners, goalkeeper's distribution?  Surely these are the easiest things to put right.

Goal keepers distribution is awful because the keeper is awful. Free kicks and corners are things that should be practiced in training. Practice makes perfect! How much are they being coached? Is the coach doing his job properly?

First off as I said their goal stemmed from a bottled half way line challenge by Brownhill.

But here's some home truths, Magnússon is not and will never be good enough at this level, we still do not have a single creative force in midfield, we at times play some pretty stuff right up to the opponents penalty area and then totally run out of ideas, which ends with us slowing things down so much that opponents have loaded their box with players, our crossing is woeful, our free kicks are worse, it doesn't help that our main strikers who instead of pushing up on the last defender are constantly dropping deep into midfield in search of the ball, it doesn't help that Bryan is not playing well (although today he had an excuse by having to cover for Magnússon), it doesn't help that Brownhill and Paterson feel the need when in a good position and even some times in defence to play 'nick/flicks/backheels'.

And now of course we have the added problem of if Baker is injured who ******* well plays at right back, to be honest it looks as big a mess as it was this time last season.

Cannot fault Fielding, Wright, Flint, Baker and thank god for Reid and especially Smith because without them we would be in trouble.

Haha. Are you serious?

We were in the top 4. There are plenty of capable right backs who we could have gone and got on loan or bought.

Dont give me all this "names" bollocks. You know it and I know it...our recruitment in January was shocking

Missing the point as usual. It's real life not football manager. You can't just think up a name and click 'buy now'.

For the 100000th time - January window was ******* awful. Diony & Walsh have in no way improved us. Kent OK as a squad player but won’t make us push on.

Still relying on Diedhou & Reid playing well for us to play well as a team. Horrendous all round today.

One thing to ponder, thank God he wasn't given a big budget. He might have come back with Diony on a permanent, like he tried to in the summer.

We might have been left needing to sell someone this summer to balance the books. At least we can still be very bullish with valuations.

I still do like our approach, though I can understand those who would prefer for us to gamble bigger stakes.

A lot of sense posted on this thread, and also some utter bollocks.

There was a lot of talk of Bristol being the “better team” despite being 10 points behind us before the start of the game.. yet all I saw was a Bristol side pump the ball long for the entire first half.

You were awful. Back down the table you go.

I never said it was.

We had about 2 months before the window opened up to sound out adequate cover. As someone else said....it would have meant he would have had to have dropped Bailey. He was never going to do that

We're close to 3 months with only 1 win

I think you mean 2 months. But still not great.

The good thing is that at least we still seem difficult to beat. A 'winless' run is slightly better than a 'losing' one. 12 games left and no one else in the top six to play has to be seen as a bonus.

3 points vs Sheff W on Sat and hopefully we can leave this blip behind us.

I don't think we played that badly... point was a fair result, but arguably Cardiff had that extra bit of quality up front.

Bailey Wright was found wanting again, and Hörður still had a few moments of craziness, but overall - thought we looked solid and thought it was a point in the bag.

Thought Diediou played well, it was a great battle between him and the Cardiff centre backs.

Well ultimately that's his decision and he will live and die by those decisions. There's a lot we don't know about what did and didn't happen in January. We don't know what the directive was from Lansdown, and what was sanctioned for example.

Just imitating the way you play and that was LJ's mistake and NW knew this and exploited it.  If you go up enjoy it for a season,  because you will come straight down just like you did last time.

I find it truely amazing that, less then 30 minutes since the full time whistle, you are already on our forum

I’ve said it numerous occasions! The season will just dwindle out. The players know they ain’t good enough or consistent enough to win the playoffs. Why put yourself through the heartbreak when deep in your heart you know you are not quite good enough as the other players you’re playing against. Bring on the rubbish ticks but you all know it is the truth.

So angry!! That was a soft goal to give away. Can't they defend for a whole game. Need to take a lesson from Wigan. I would of taken a 0-0 too with the run of games left. Hopefully the result might turn into a positive for the rest of the season. :grr:

Luckily the Casino’s 50 yards from the ground “mate”. Thought I’d watch it all unfold here before I mosey on home to my valley cave :shifty:
