Surely part of that legally binding contract expects the player to do his utmost to get fit, respect his club/team/manager and try his best to play football. After all, it’s a football player contract. Surely he must do everything he can to actually play football. If he’s refusing to play football, is he not in breach of contract? Looked good on match of the day once and so get hyped as the next (INSERT NAME OF GREAT FOOTBALLER) . It is so much better for players to come through at sides in League 1 and the Championship. Or at least spend proper time on loan, learning that they have to earn it. To be fair a FIT Andy Carroll is still a class act. Shame he’s made of glass!!
