I just don't understand this. LJ says that there is no video evidence and says he did not do it, seems rediculous. I was at the game and did not see any incident.

Congrats on summarising the FA

Am I right in saying that if the appeal is turned down the FA can increase the punishment and fine the club?

Doubt it.

Bans can be extended if an appeal is deemed frivolous, or no grounds to base an appeal on.

What if there were no grounds for the penalty being applied?

Common sense would say the appeal would have a strong case.

However, this is the FA we're dealing with.

Since the appeal was heard today and it is now 9pm and there has been no statement, surely the appeal was not upheld.  If it was upheld, a statement would undoubtedly have been made quite quickly. Therefore looks like a pretty strong endorsement of the guilty verdict to me, unfortunately.

Seems very strange that nothing has been confirmed.  If the evidence (or lack of) was strong enough for an appeal, then perhaps it is strong enough for court.  Same with Bailey Wright's simulation case, unless the FA are beyond the law.

No City players listed as suspended on the FA site when I checked.

However they may have just removed until an outcome was decided.

And that part of the site is dreadfully maintained as they still show the suspensions handed out to Keegan and Bremner in the Charity Shield.

The appeal only said there would be an appeal looked at today

It does not say that there would be a conclusion today

There will be a top Barrister chairing the appeal as a neutral person ( Not employed by the FA)

I thought there would be a conclusion after today

But it looks like they may have to talk to other parties and assess the appeal

Im sure there will be a conclusion tomorrow

Bizarre that they have never outlined what the evidence is, when they made the first judgement.

In a court of law, everything said in the courtroom; is deemed in the public domain unless it is sensitive.

I reckon it must have been the 4th official. In which case we would need strong evidence to over turn the original decision.

It is a lot harder to appeal an existing decision; than to defend an original verdict.

I fear the worst I'm afraid.

Doesn’t say anything - just a video of him in a car - presumably being driven there or back looking very full of himself and assured.

Could be smug happiness. Could be don’t give a toss arrogance. Who knows :juggle:
