Gloucestershire v Somerset

was at the Somerset T20 game against Glos last Friday in Taunton... which Somerset won with quite a margin to spare, but there were reasons for that. Firstly a Glos bowler (don't know his name) pulled his hamstring very early into his spell, which hit the bowling attack (obviously). Secondly, if Glos have done some catching practice it may be more of a contest.

C'mon Somerset

Gloucs. beat in-form Kent on Wednesday afternoon without T20 specialist Benny Howell, Michael Klinger never got going with the bat (but captained the side brilliantly), and Andrew (AJ) Tye is back in the side after a fantastic IPL.  Should be a cracking game, unfortunately can't make this one.  Come on Glos!

Poor sod was evidently in agony. There was a lengthy break before play resumed. He'd just started his run up and then had to stop very suddenly. Not quite on the same scale as Syd Lawrence but pain nevertheless

Poor Glos - had 3 weeks of baking hot weather and a really isolated shower(s) probably losing out on one of the biggest revenue earners of the season. Crazy - in Portishead we’ve had no rain at all

Didn’t they lose 3 - 50 over games too? I can certainly think of two rained off when we hadn’t had a drop of rain for days.

Yes we (Glos) were almost certain to win in Taunton (and almost nicked it under D/L) but the rain robbed us of the win, yet we didn't have a drop of rain in Bristol that day.  We lost an entire game against Hants and at least one other.  Of course its swings and roundabouts and you can sometimes pick up a point in a game you may expect to lose because of the weather, but of course we don't really follow cricket hoping it will rain and the game won't get played!!

So we have an 11 over thrash, should be good, wish I was going now:fingerscrossed:

Jamie Overton gets two overs and goes for 31. Waller gets 1 over and goes for 6? ***kin awful captancy. Why Jamie even gets a game is beyond me, zero control.
