Don't like Villa or Brentford but Maupay should have been off for that stamp.

Retrospective ban no doubt but with all the tech available I don't understand why that can't be brought to Refs attention at half time and he is then sent off at half time.

Retrospective ban on Maupay would favour the next teams Brentford are due to play - but if Maupay now scores winner for Brentford tonight then Villa won't give a flying shite about a retrospective ban for a guy who shouldn't be on the pitch now.

You called it!

1-2 Bees....

Yeah! Get in!

I really dislike Villa but really like Brenford. Griffin Park is the second most away ground  that I’ve been to. Unfortunately the County Ground is the most.........it’s the same shithole now as it was 40 years ago.....

Got the sympathy vote for being sacked by Brum but that did indeed lead to his reputation being inflated.

Agreed on that. Let's he fair he did a great job there, thinking more his style of play and mismatch with Stoke's resources/expectations/game requirements.

Derby he did okay...but no more I'd say.

I thought his Derby team was ponderous personally. Did a fine job at Burton though.

Don’t Brentford move to a new ground next season?

Kodjia again for 2-2!

@Tomarse Hard to say with Bolton- amazing start, and their style is very hard to counteract. It's horrible but that can get you quite far sometimes.

We might look back at that 2-2 as a decent result regardless of how poor we were on the day

Absolutely - many City fans justify our defeats by saying things like ‘we were up against one of the division’s true heavyweights’ etc etc....tiresome....

It's learned helplessness, resigned, hopeless. Other clubs with less "budget" than us do more and better than us. Preston finished 7th last season. If we do enough things well, properly, professionally, on and off the pitch, we can finish amongst the big guns.

I have great admiration for Brentford and would love to see them go up at the expense of one of the arrogant bigger clubs but perhaps we can make a comparison when they have sold their 3 best players then get hit by injuries.

The argument that team x have done it - and Brentford haven't yet - so we should applies to every similar or indeed bigger club in the league. In that context most teams in the league are failures.

Why the hell didn't we go for Watkins though?!

Yep, sad but necessary for Brentford.

Not sure what the capacity of Griffin Park is but I saw on the news today that the Bees new stadium will have a 17k capacity.
