Johnson deserves credit. But not always. That's my take and unless someone is anti-Johnson totally on a personal basis, I have no problem with people being critical.

But for me, right now ,

I say Well done, Lee

Cough, I dunno you and Bob, a fine pair of Bristol's.

Villa went for LJ before Bruce went there didn't they?

Certainly remember it being in the press.

That was when he signed a new contract, and about a month before the long losing run started.

Doubt it after this...... https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/lee-johnson-aims-astonishing-dig-14101656

Football works like this  OK?

Manager does crap = gets stick

Manager gets results = gets praise

Johnson does both and gets both

Not hard

Yes but losing 3 or 4 games in a tough league like the Championship when you've sold 3 of your best players should not result in some of the sh*t that Johnson got. A manager that has improved our league position for 3 years and took us to a national cup semi as well as beating 5 Prem teams deserve more patience and respect. I hope the Johnson out camp will be more reserved the next time we hit the inevitable sticky spell that comes unless you are one of the top 2-3 in the division which nobody even Johnson thinks we are yet.

That was over a year later, so unless the Villa owners have some sort of time machine I can't see how that would have impacted.

....you’re right of course....forgot to mention though, the bit that made me laugh in that link was LJ lording it after we lost 5-0 to Villa and saying we are above them and let’s see where they end up....well, they ended up in the play off final at Wembley and we were midtable....we are on a very decent run at the moment, but LJ’s propensity to shoot his mouth off and appear arrogant is longstanding and needs to be reined in....

I've lived a sheltered life... Where does this go btw? or is it a back scratcher?B74EEBEB-B231-470C-9E6E-F8BCCC33980C.gif

Once the Potatoes have boiled, drain, shake, then add the cream and give them a good poke using this before mashing.

If the Mrs complains that the mash isn't very nice then give her this and tell her to go and **** herself!

Opinions eh ? We’re all entitled to them in this age and more people see and hear them than ever before.

Football is probably the worst subject for opinion pieces as the sport is as fickle as it’s supporters.

Only a tiny minority of players and managers go through a career unscathed from criticism, some get absolute hate.

And the most respected experts can occasionally  look as daft the biggest fools.

Personally I like Lee Johnson. He’s occasionally cringeworthy and tactically conservative. But I think he offers us the best hope of advancing. But who knows I might be calling for his head within a few weeks. After all I was 2 years ago.

Once again we have a poster taking the thread off topic and on a tangent.

Can we please get back on track and discussion about sex aids, the location of the clitoris ( for what it's worth, I think it could be in the concourse under the south stand) and various kitchen accessories and equipment.

P.S. what is the best recipe for mashed potato and do you get less lumps by using a  rampant rabbit?

:)

Not entirely sure what you're trying to say here...

But you seem to one of the more active posters on here so do you know who the 15-20 "attention seeking whores " who hijack every thread are? As I'm completely  baffled....

You cant remember because you have a deliberately short memory.

Interesting read that thread and just highlights that people really do spout utter shit pretending to know about players. LJ being referred to as "strong in the tackle" with "an eye for a pass" and "worth ten goals a season".

Whether you loved or hated LJ as a player I don't think any of the above could be attributed to him, although I think he was a decent player for us in league One.

I thought as a player he wasn't too bad, reliable is the best word.  If Noble (Loved his beer) or Carle (Self serving little shit) had have worked out he wouldn't have played anywhere near as many championship games as he did.
